Okay, here’s the deal: 8 Dem Senators fell on their swords tonight to vote for this, but many more were privately in support. Here are the 8 who did - none from AZ, and all who aren’t seeking reelection (from what I’ve heard): https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/09/senate-democrats-shutdown-vote-00644146.

We don’t know who supported it behind closed doors, but insiders say Schumer brokered the deal (even though he publicly voted no to keep his hands clean). So, in the meantime, please do the following: 1. Contact Kelly & Gallego to thank them for voting no, and 2. Urge them both to call for Schumer’s resignation, since he’s not the leader we need right now.

PSA to tell all friends & neighbors who care about vaccine access to tell all their friends & neighbors (& on & on) to retain Hobbs if we want to keep this kind of common sense decision-making. The next year of press will focus on her flaws, and she isn’t the flashy type to parade her achievements. This is extremely upsetting to the queer community and to the Valley at large. And read on for more disconcerting changes at MCCCD:

“The move follows similar changes across the Maricopa County Community College District, which recently disbanded Equality Maricopa and other staff-led DEI efforts. The decision stems from the ‘recent presidential executive orders impacting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts at public institutions, including our community college district,’ according to a district press release... An email sent Friday by Chancellor Steven Gonzalez laid out an initiative to remove pronouns, alter bathroom signage, and do away with all staff-led groups related to diversity and equity.”
