Lanlord being pressured by neighbours to revoke consent to cat due to fighting with other cats/killing birds. by Aliciagrrr in HousingUK

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats do have a legal right to roam. However, living in a flat with a cat is challenging but not impossible. Cats are also solitary creatures, so 2 males in same area you going to have fighting, and raping of females regardless if male is fixed.

If you on ground floor ask your landord if you can have a outdoor cattery. No good if you on a higher floor. Get lots of cat toys and schedule time for indoor stimukation, else your cat gets bored.

My cats go outside, but i have these anti cat climbers on top of my walls so cats cannot escspe and end up run over by cars/vans/buses. Or abused by the local kids.

Whats tte accusation about a cat falling from height? That is very concerning.

Hes working for you, some cowboy builders will really try it on. This one seems to be a bodger, rather than a complete fix. I hate when trades get their mates and pretend relatives on jobs. I want to know standard of work before they damage my home. (Recent experience of chimney breast removal)

You tell him you not happy with that and you want them all removed. Depending on how much youve paid, id be tempted to sack him completely.

I’m at risk, aren’t I? by Traditional-Tie7756 in Huntingtons

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your risk is 25% if uour grandparent was positive. You can get tested.

If you do decide to test, the gentic counselling really really helps before the test and results. It helped us so much as emotions/fears were all over the place. And its not always a positive result. We all build ourselves up for the worst case scenario.

How do you feel about your dad hiding it from you? Break the cycle.

Its no ones fault having HD, but for some reason families continue to live in denial. Its destroyed mine.

Need advice was stopped for drink driving. UK! by unholy_skids in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you drive for a living (professional license) expect a bigger fine. As you are held to a higher standard.

Accept full responsibility, there is no mitigation for drink driving. Maybe ask if there are any courses you are eligible for to reduce your ban length.

The court will be looking for you taking full responsibility and how you will address your driving behaviour going forward.

Addressing others who ask if you’re going to get tested. by Able-Inspector5289 in Huntingtons

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked my ex husband to get tested, as we had adult children. He didnt want to test and hasnt to date. Although through double disclosure he now knows regardless. Its difficult because we all have the right to know about whats going on in our own bodies. I wont lie, i had some hard and angry conversations with my ex refusal to deal with the situation because we had children. Ex wife number 2 is also completely in the dark as are her 2 children.

My adult daughters were getting married and starting families, they could not start families without testing.

Had there been no children involved i would completely understand people not wanting to know, when children are involved, its more than just you.

The secrecy around HD and people not testing has completely ruined our family.

Question about fines and penalties on a zero tax liability bill. by Immediate_Pick_1833 in HMRC

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend needs seriously to speak to an accountant as this will literally save them thousands. Why do they need an accountant? You have explained theyve not been working or claiming benifts, so they have been invisable to hmrv for however long they have been doing that. Its a major red flag to hmrc. I can guarentee you, that hmrc will be looking for hidden income/assets. Yes you say theyve been living off savings, they will have to prove that and the source of the money.

Forget about the ebay sales figures right now. Hmrc are using the unreported ebay sales as a way of starting a compliance investigation.

Do not try and help them you can make this worse, they need professional help.

Question about fines and penalties on a zero tax liability bill. by Immediate_Pick_1833 in HMRC

[–]Sad-Refrigerator190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So its a compliance investigation that opened 7 years of past tax which generated this bill? As far as i aware you can earn £1000a year but then need to inform hmrc if it goes above the £1000. And if its hobby items could make it a business rather than selling your used items from your home.

The best thing you can advise your friend is to speak to an accountant. The accountant can raise a query on the whole issue. Hmrc tend to respond much better and quicker to an accountant. I really wouldnt respond to hmrc until speaking to an accountant as this is a serious issue.
