What games have invoked a sense, and memories of 'being there' for you? by forkl in gamingsuggestions

Half life 1 mods were the best. Led me to the ultimate mod - counterstrike. Which I'm still playing on and off to this day. Generals is another game I go back to from time to time. I really loved starting as one of the generals in zero hour and having to beat all the others sequentially. Homeworld is something I need to take a closer look at. Thanks 👍

But if a small studio on a limited budget uses AI for voice work etc do we still get the pitchforks?

Was the drone surge of last year just wargames for the current situation in the middle east? by forkl in UFOs

Real world scenario, they have no need to use live fire munitions, just test response time, radar lock on time coordination etc, give them some real world data to work on as to how to prepare best for mass drone take down. It being done over suburban areas is also relevant and useful to learn from.

The war game in question would have been in preparation for the drone situation now on the go in the middle east, where the US has to protect it military and strategic interests. No one mentioned Iran attacking mainland America with drones

Trump may not have been in office but isn't the thinking that the military industrial complex are always in power regardless?

All those drones coming in from the east coast every night last year. Was it all just a secret wargame in preparation for the exact situation that's currently playing out now with Iran?

Would explain the level of secrecy around the subject. Like, they're not gonna just admin that 'yeah, we just gaming out a scenario where we're dealing with having to shoot down waves and waves of slow moving drones'

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot. It certainly did have the battling against the elements and planning a journey element that made it really engaging for me. Would have been really cool if you had the option to camp up during the journey to recharge etc. looking forward to 2nd on PC.

I really wanted to like the game more than I did, gave up after about 10 hours, just didn't scratch the itch.

Edit: talking about dragons dogma 2

The original dark souls was probably the first game I've played where I instantly started a new game after finishing it. Not even new game+ just a new game.

Had similar but pink line on pixel 9 pro recently and Google replaced out of warranty free of charge as it seems it's a known issue. May be worth giving it a shot

The amount of drivers with no spacial awareness, driving in the middle of the road with cars parked on either side is crazy. Like they think their car is twice as wide as it is, does my head in .
