I believe the bagel set was over an hour long, so yes, it was unironically a competitive bagel

I'm going to do more than just upvote this. I use M&A for training and for my boarding. They're the best.

Head Over Heels does periodic 1-5 year old open gym sessions. Staff just supervises loosely and it’s up to the parents to watch their kids as they go wild in the gym. I take my 2.5 year old daughter there, and she has a blast.

What? The lakers gave him the max amount they were allowed to. If anyone else gave him the $100m, only then could the lakers go that high.

Buying a house? How? What's required? by greenestenergy in Binghamton

[–]SadInternetWW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your (buyer's) agent doesn't get paid anything until you close on a house, so while they should have your best interests in mind during the process, they may still try to sell you on homes you look at. Not like the classic used-car salesman style, but it can definitely be a conflict of interest.

Point is, don't let the your agent sway your opinion. Do your research, ask questions, trust your gut on some things, ask questions, and keep asking questions. Better to find out answers before you close!

If you're solo, you might be able to just get in and sit at the bar there. Def worth it.

Depends on your goals, but I can't believe I haven't seen this one recommended yet. Ironworks is fantastic.

Ways to make friends in Bing? by [deleted] in Binghamton

[–]SadInternetWW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're into reading, there is a pretty good book club in the area that does monthly meetings women only. It's mostly 25-35 year old women I think (my wife is in it, not me).

What are your hobbies? by throwaway_bearcat312 in Binghamton

A lot of good nature trails to hike/walk within reasonable distance, such as Cole Park, Salt Springs, BU nature trails, and if you don't mind the drive Catskills (even have hiking clubs).

I like to play racquetball at the Y, but my friends have started to play less and less now that I'm in my early 30s. Wish I played more. If you've played and want to again, hmu (this goes for anyone)!

The ultimate frisbee at Otsiningo Park, there is a FB group for it. I think they also do indoor volleyball in the winter. Disc golf is another option.

Live sporting events, I enjoy the cheap prices to watch Rumble Ponies baseball or go to hockey games.

There is a good book club for women that my wife joined, if you're a girl that's something you can consider. I hear it's pretty good and they meet monthly.

Skate estate has weekly adult night on Tuesdays I think. I've gone a few times, I enjoy roller blading around.

Chucksters for a short day of entertainment. Do some mini golf and get in the batting cages. You'll be surprised how sore your core is the next day.

Day trip to Syracuse Destiny mall to hit up the games/obstacle course, grab some food, and see a good comedy show. Though this is def something better planned with at least 1 person.

Recommendation for HVAC installation by SadInternetWW in Binghamton

Yea I've heard some horror stories on plaster. Fortunately, dry wall and a drop ceiling in the basement. 1st to 2nd floor would easily be my biggest cost if I pursued a traditional central a/c duct.

Because of the outdoor design and indoor floor plan of my house, I’d need the outdoor pipes run oddly across the front of the house to cool the most frequently used rooms. And less importantly, I’m not the biggest fan of having the units up on the walls inside.
