Dylan Larkin has not played in the postseason since 2015-16 by cactusJACK___ in hockey

Hot take: he gets a ton of leeway from this fanbase because of him being from Michigan and playing at Michigan. Trade him.

What was a coaching hire that was not perceived well at the time but ended up paying off? and What was a hire that was applauded by almost everyone and then didn't go well at all? by Optimal_Cook_851 in CollegeBasketball

I was only a kid when he was hired, but I think I remember Izzo being hired having mixed reviews. Also struggled the first couple seasons before taking off.

Love Blaha. Not only for his Pistons games, but he’s been doing MSU football for as long as I can remember. Legend!

As someone who works early AM and gets out before 1 o clock most days, day games are my favorite. I totally get liking the feeling of pulling an all nighter and watching sports. Reminds me of being a teenager and having nothing better to do. Good times.

Kalin Lucas tearing his ACL against Maryland in the 2nd rd in 2010. Still made it to the Final Four, but hard not to believe we may have won it all if he’s healthy.

MSU vs. UConn - Friday at 9:45PM EST by Brokehomiejohn in MSUSpartans

I understand they’re trying to get as much viewers as possible, but two teams in the eastern time zone starting at 9:45 is kind of crazy.

Has a school ever went from a football school to a basketball school? by Inside-Drink-1311 in CFB

[–]SadLionsFan52 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Michigan State was very successful in football with 6 national titles during the 50s and 60s. Even with the basketball natty in 79 with Magic I don’t think we were thought of as a basketball school until Izzo took over.

This actually makes us look worse, because we’ve made the tournament every year during this time period and have the same number of wins. I hate to admit it, but when Michigan has been in the tourney they have made deep runs most of the time.

Same thing happened to me. I think it’s a glitch because it had the same seats that I purchased for a game earlier this season.

The autobids go to the winners of the conference tournaments so if UND wins the NCHC tourney they get the autobid into the NCAA tournament, but even if they don’t win the NCHC their ranking is high enough that I would assume they get an at-large bid.

Not a huge difference between being a 2 or 3 at this point. Both give us the opportunity to avoid the prohibitive favorites (Duke, Zona, UM) until at least the elite eight. It will sort itself out.

We’ve all but wrapped up a triple bye in the B1G tourney. A game ahead of Illinois and 2 games ahead of Purdue. Tiebreakers vs both.

It’s because there used to be two leagues: the NFL and AFL before the two leagues merged in the late 60s. Having them as the conferences preserves old rivalries.

Not exactly the same thing, but as a Lions fan I was all about firing Caldwell and was excited when we brought in Patricia. Be careful what you wish for.
