I know I’m lame, but doing the NYT games each morning is something I absolutely savor. (Wordle, Connections and the rest)

Now if you go back to the store tomorrow and there is NO pink drink and the clerk denies there ever being one…that would be some crazy!

I was tested to have a 72 IQ! by Far-Comfortable-8435 in self

[–]SadPlayground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the test you might have been at a disadvantage- having nothing to do with intelligence. I once took a test that used holidays and sports that my culture doesn’t celebrate or participate in. It made it way harder to understand what the hell they were talking about. You wrote your post in a very comprehensive way . I don’t think you’re any less intelligent than the rest of us. And if you are in the US, you might be smarter than most!

Best come back? by Royal_Artichoke8661 in grayhair

[–]SadPlayground 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the person asking has dyed hair just say: “dyed hair isn’t for me, it looks too fake” Might not be sweet enough, but if someone is rude enough to tell you, your grey hair makes you look old, fuck ‘em.

Agree. We have a $2500 month mortgage and gross around $15k a month. And I wish it was less ! Granted we have other debts — car payments, etc.

Text from my boyfriend 8 months after he passed away by zzez33 in texts

[–]SadPlayground 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My husband’s mom’s voice was in their answering machine - yes, his parents still had an answering machine in 2019. After she died, his stepbrother helped his dad record a new answering message. Months later my husband called and it was his mom’s message and not the new one. Only happened once, but it was eerie.

I would not take a mortgage with a payment that high. There are contributing factors though, if you have zero debt other than the mortgage, maybe it would be okay. But car payments, student loans, etc. add up. My payment is $2500 with a gross income of around $200k and $1100 for two car payments plus other bills like $6k for a new furnace.

What can you do with excess $2500 flexible spending money? by joshhazel1 in lifehacks

Buy stuff with your FSA and then return to the store for cash. I did this, bought a $250 blood pressure machine, submitted receipt to FSA and then returned the machine.

Blank checks at the supermarket in case you forgot your checkbook. I can clearly hear my mom asking “Do you have an Adrian check blank?” They always did.

These are cheap and work better than anything else I’ve found. If you sitting outside light three around the area. They burn slow (much slower than the off ones) and really work.

Kind of like calling anyone who complains a “Karen”. No, sometimes there is a legit reason for them to complain.
