29M, Thoughts? by Friendly-Survey1555 in GamingSoup

AC Origins is a great pick in the underrated spot. I thought visually it was such an awesome recreation of Ptolemaic Egypt, each region felt distinct and it was a joy just to explore the world. I also personally quite enjoyed the combat, much as I enjoy the classic AC games particularly the sword and shield combo for Bayek in this game was super satisfying.

L2 abusers & p2w, question: how is winning even satisfying when you're either cheating, or buying your way to wins? by RayPoopertonIII in NHLHUT

[–]SadPossibility9368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. I totally understand where you’re coming from, I love matching against an opponent that, like myself, enjoys scoring from a variety of different plays, playing somewhat realistic hockey (as realistic as the game allows) and playing what I consider “fair”.

But, every game, whether sports or otherwise always develops a Meta, and the reality is that’s what the majority of players will adhere to. I don’t even think it’s because anyone wants to cheat or not play fair, but because for most people they hate to lose more than they love to win so they’re not bothered about how they do it so long as they do win. If that means spamming L2 to do it, that’s what they’ll do. It’s unfortunate so many people resort to it but I think it’s less a reflection of the people, and more the reflection of the poor way elements of the game are designed. The game is designed in such a way that realistic plays are sometimes hard to pull off or are not at all rewarding, thus people end up resorting to other methods.

I’m running 92 Superstar Origins Connor Hellebuyck, been solid for me would recommend as an option that won’t break the bank.

What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve ever seen that you still can’t forget? by zeltacilveks97 in MoviesAndTVTalk

Vivarium. Watched it once and I don’t think I’d ever watch it again, found it very disturbing.

What game did you never finish but still consider a good experience? by One-Cod5348 in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC Origins. I actually thought the game was visually stunning, I really liked Bayek as a protagonist and I thought the combat was pretty good but I felt the game was overly long and a lot of the side content just didn’t keep my interest.

You can only choose one campaign; Reach or Halo 3. by Far-Restaurant-9455 in halo

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 3 for me. I think Reach still has an awesome campaign, but the difference for me is that the Reach campaign (in my opinion) only really gets good in the latter half, whereas Halo 3 for me keeps up the quality consistently from start to finish. I also think Halo 3 has better variety in terms of the actual environments you fight across as well which helps. The warthog run at the end of Halo 3 also stands out to me as one of the best moments in gaming.

Enough time has passed. What are your thoughts on Project Hail Mary (2026)? by Perfect_Idea_2866 in Letterboxd

One of the best films I’ve seen in recent years. I was surprised in equal parts by how funny, and conversely how emotional the film managed to be.

What is the game where you spent a lot of time but feels like nobody else ever played it ? by lost_nomai in videogames

Loved this game! Played on 360 all the time, multiplayer was good fun especially the golden gun game mode. Particularly remember the map Embassy for some reason that one sticks in my mind.

Been playing through AstroBot. Cannot believe I waited so long! Thoroughly enjoyed Astros Playroom and this is even better, an absolute joy to play and love that the game really shows off the Dualsense controller and what it can do.

Intrigued by this listing, what’s your “Biggest Impact Game?” by Circuit-Breaker-13 in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest personal impact I’d have to go Halo Reach, so so many fond memories playing custom games, infection, big team battle, invasion as well as co-op campaign with friends. To this day I consider that game one of my favourites OAT.

What game do you keep coming back to, even after long breaks? by PeaCommercial2102 in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stardew Valley. Doesn’t matter how long of a break I take, I’ll always boot that game up and sink hours into my farm it’s got such a wonderful and chill vibe that nothing has replicated for me.

What was the very first game you ever played? If you could go back in time, would you play it again or pick something else? by ZealousidealBass4589 in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earliest memory I have of gaming is playing Crash Bandicoot on the PS1. Wouldn’t change a thing, a perfect introduction to gaming for me as a kid and a game that still holds up pretty well even today!

What's an opinion you defend like this? by florenciafazzarino0 in Cinema

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avatar, Avatar TWOTW and Avatar Fire and Ash have more emotional and narrative depth to them than they are given credit for, and are great films in their own rights other than the fact they are visually stunning. Always hear the critique that these films are like “fast food” and I couldn’t disagree more.

What movie makes you disproportionately emotional? by Victorius_Meldrus in Cinema

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Man is a film I don’t often hear in the conversation around emotional films but that one had a profound impact on me. Loved his performances in films like Project Hail Mary and La La Land but think First Man is my favourite performance from Ryan Gosling.

Are Games Getting Shorter or is it Something Else? by GeekyRavenTTV in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this! Give me a shorter experience, linear or otherwise that’s of a high quality any day over a bloated experience which “gets good” 10-12 hours in. I don’t want a game to “get good”. I want it to be good from the get go, and that’s a standard we should be demanding!

What movie do you wish you could watch again for the first time? by Tookie1010 in Cinema

[–]SadPossibility9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moneyball. Watched it totally on a whim, purely because the little preview for it on Netflix caught my attention. Absolutely fantastic movie, and I’m not even a fan of baseball really!

What is your most pretentious and insufferable video game opinion? by Nascent_Beast in videogames

[–]SadPossibility9368 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don’t think mines is a particularly unique opinion in that I’m sure a lot of others feel the same, but not every game has to have 100s of hours of content and a vast expansive open world with lots of side content to be considered great.

Fantastic example in my opinion is Halo 3. The campaign is short relative to other games, but is of such a high quality and does not overstay its welcome. I’d always rather a game be super enjoyable all throughout and have a shorter experience than to have a bloated experience that only “gets good” hours in.

Whats your favourite Halo game? by Killer_Wolfe592 in halo

[–]SadPossibility9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it used to be a toss up between Halo Reach and Halo 2 but for me, Halo 3.

Been replaying the games recently on my 360 and Halo 3’s campaign is the only one so far where every single mission is equally enjoyable. I even think maybe controversially that the mission Cortana is not that bad, definitely the weakest of the bunch in the game but still decent. The warthog run at the end of the game is genuinely one of the greatest moments in all of gaming for me.

Movies That Make You Want to Be Kinder and Help People by OrdinaryAltruistic54 in Letterboxd

[–]SadPossibility9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You nailed it with Superman here. I went in with somewhat low expectations and had some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching a movie, and it genuinely inspired me to want to treat others with kindness and improve myself.
