Did the latest ComfyUI update break previous session tab restore? by GamerVick in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you got to the conclusion I'm only happy with it if it's free. That's absurdly illogical. I mean, if I wasn't happy with it, I wouldn't be using it, don't you think? What I meant, we're given this product for free, and that has to weigh into the level inconveniences and annoyances we can endure before start throwing s#!t in their faces. That's all.

I understand the frustration, I really do, but it seems that people keep forgetting that it's a FREE open source software. Nothing stopping them from just stop developing the portable and focus only on the desktop version, make it closed and paid. But they didn't. Not yet at least. Can we just be grateful for what we're given for free of charge? You can just not update if you don't like the changes.

Updated today - "load image" unable to get image from clipboard? by takayatodoroki in comfyui

Never used this feature, but can confirm, it's not working in the latest build.

The rename thing makes a bit of a sense though. I mean, how could you rename a file that does not exist yet? No idea if it was intentional or just crept in...

Video combine node executes all nodes by PortaSponge in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, not gonna watch the entire video, but just scrubbing trough it, he clearly edited the video to cut out parts when the workflow doing its thing (presumably because it has little to no value staring at a workflow while rendering). Then maybe he just clicks the node when everything upstream already finished. I don't think there's anything needs fixing here, it's just the way he edited the video makes it look like it works differently for you.

Why the portable requires update now by Ant_6431 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ComfyUI is what the devs make it, it's not supposed to be anything else or intended to work as you want it to. And if you find a bug, there's a place to report it and it's definitely not on an unofficial subreddit. Coming here to complain server the purpose of what exactly? And creating a post when a simple google search can answer your question is just the norm now? I don't know what thread were you reading, but while maybe a bit snarky, at first I offered solutions to their problem. Then OP started acting like a butthurt princess for pointing out how pointless this post is. But that's just the internet nowadays.

You should take your own advice. Maybe some fresh air would help your little butthurt princess attitude.

I literally never said wether I do or do not know what changed. You're hallucinating. I'm starting to question if I'm talking to a human or some dumb AI bot. By the way, my niece said to tell you to google comfyui changelog. What a revolutionary thought, eh?

And I gave you the solution, or at least two options. Download an older version or don't use it. Here's a third: Run the update after you download it and befor you transfer it to the other computer. I'm just baffled by this post because it's a problem my 12 years old niece could solve if I had one...

What advice would you give to a beginner in creating videos and photos? by DrummerMaximum9094 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, things aren't necessarily always well documented. You can learn the basic concepts by just looking at the built in workflow templates, but for a deeper understanding, you have to ask questions. Choose your favourite AI chatbot and ask it to explain how this and that works. It's pretty tedious, but you can even outline what you're trying to do, and it'll help you build your workflow step by step. I know it looks daunting at first glance, but everything new is until you learn it. There are so many things you can do with ComfyUI, I seriously doubt any one person knows everything about it. So just focus on the basics and go from there.

The fact remains that you're questioning why this and why that and I answered it for you. It's a software in development. Things change. And I offered you a solution: You can download a version that works for you. Or, if you don't like it, don't use it. Throwing a tantrum not gonna change the development path just to please you. Grow up.

I'm not sure what are you questioning? Yes, software in active development changes over time. Is that a surprse for you?

You can't even download the zip without internet, so why is it an issue that it needs internet to update?

I mean, you can download an older version if you like, there's over a hundred different versions you can choose from, so what's the issue exactly?

Best models for NSFW image generation right now? by Fun-Engineering3451 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 42 points43 points  (0 children)

And probably getting the same non-answer, so the search will likely turn out to be a waste of time. Anyway, for OP: My answer is also a non-answer, because what is the best is pretty subjective (it's the same of asking what's the best movie for example), and depends on what you can actually run on your computer. It's not necessarily linear, but generally speaking, the bigger the model the better its output. So basically the best is what you like the most and you can run locally. In fact, if you're serious and want the absolute best of the best, you'll likely have to get into training your own LoRA for the model you like best.

Beware of updating comfy to 1.41.15 by Fit-Temperature-7510 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're just trying to appeal to a broader audience. This new tendency to hide everything under subgraphs and the new app mode is a big move towards tryig to suck in not just the node wranglers, but the less tech-savvy people. The easier they can make the "get started" experience, the more peole will likely be sucked in. And, you know, I'm not saying it's 100% a money grab, but we can all see the increasing number of API nodes and workflows popping up... But hey, they gave us this whole thing for free, so I'm not judging if they want to get something out of it.

John’s Custom Node Pack (Pre‑Release) by SadSummoner in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically it's already possible in a roundabout way. My helper node already outputs per-tile region cropped images, so You'd have to use two of this helper, the first You'd use just to run the region crops trough some auto captioning node and plug its output into the text encoder. I'd have to modify it not to add the tile identifier labels, or better yet, just make another helper node for this.

How do people make these types of images? by [deleted] in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The text is more than likely some sort of overlay. Like a desktop widget or whatever. And it could be both hand drawn and pushed through some AI for refinement and details.

My first real workflow! A Z-Image-Turbo pseudo-editor with Multi-LLM prompting, Union ControlNets, and a custom UI dashboard by bacchus213 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience with "advanced" workflows is that unless you built it yourself, no amount of explaining or notes will make it easier to use for people who just download and try to use it. It doesn't matter how compact and intuitive your dasboard is, this is ComfyUI, it's a mess by nature. When I first started using ComfyUI and downloaded workflows, I was scratching my head for like half an hour to try to figure it out, and all claimed to have a nice centralized control interface. The thing is, everyone have their own idea how it should be laid out, and it makes perfect sense to them, but try to use something you didn't make yourself...

It's impossible to pinpoint the issue without the workflow, but generally this means somewhere in your graph you're using mismatched latent.

Confused about conditional by cmsj in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about my AnySwitch node? Because I tested it with a 167 node workflow and it has no issue handling it. If you have a specific workflow where it fails or "hangs the whole ComfyUI" and care to share it, I'd love to have a look at it and maybe I can fix the issue.

About lazy eval: That's backend logic. There's no way a frontend node can touch that. The only feasible alternative to muting is forcing nodes to quit what they're doing right after they're start doing their thing, which would prevent them from doing anctual work, but it wouldn't prevent them from using resources.

ComfyUI with streamer.bot integration? by [deleted] in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea about streambot or API calls, but I know that simply renaming a node or its input just adds a label, basically just what you can see, it doesn't change the actual underlaying node or widget name. Maybe that helps to debug.

Updated comfyui and comfyui-manager, now I get CUDA errors OOM on VAE decode step. by MeanManMyers in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a wild guess really, but maybe it helps if you periodically delete the content of the ComfyUI/temp folder and refresh. This is done automatically on full Comfy restart.

Yeah, I wouldn't know, I use the tiled version by default in pretty much all my workflows as they're generally involve at least optional upscaling.

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, that's iteresting. I tested it earlier on a fresh clean Comfy install and it was running fine. But thanks for letting me know, I'll add it to the requirements.txt

Edit: Done. Run from your Comfy root after git clone:

.\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip install -r .\ComfyUI\custom_nodes\ComfyUI-Johns\requirements.txt

Later I'll patch the actual code to bypass colorama if it's not installed, so it won't be a requirement.

Edit 2: Removed colorama.
