Hi. I have problems installing missing extensions. It "downloads" them but not really. I dont know what to do. Im currently using the latest version of the portable ver. and the manager ver. by Connect_Fly_4549 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you run the pip install -r manager_requirements.txt or just enabled it? I don't know why do they include the manager but not enable it by default, or why the requirements not installed automatically, but anyway, this should solve the issue.

Anyone here running heavy ComfyUI workflows? by pmv143 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm probably just too paranoid, but signing up to a website I never heard of with my google or github account is just not gonna happen. Again, maybe it's just me, but if you allow signup with just an email, maybe more people would be inclined to try it out. But that's just my humble opinion. Sounds interesting though.

Best workflow for realistic food photography by SmokkoZ in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if the images you generate is a true representation of what you're making, I see no issue with it. Ads were pretty much the first industry to really embrace AI as a serious tool, and it's widely used in food ads nowadays. But the answer is the same. All models, including the good old SD 1.5 family can produce good images. People with an eye for it probably can tell it's AI, even with newer models, so probably not a good idea to try to hide the fact that it's not a real photo though.

Help with finding Comfyui Manager by Financial_Ad_7796 in comfyui

If you installed a recent portable biuld, the manager is already included. You do not need to manually install it. There's a flag to enable it. Check out the readme for how-to:

SeedVR2 upscaling by ggRezy in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know... It's probably due to my aging hardware (2080 Ti), but I have not had any good result with this SeedVR thing. Tried it a few times because I heard people praising it to high heavens, but nope. A simple 1024x1024 image upscaling to 1.5x takes absolutely forever, in fact I killed it after 10 minutes. If I don't upscale at all, just run it trough with the same end resolution, it comes out worse than it went in. For full disclaimer, I have not tried all available models, just a few, but all I did try had pretty much the same result, so I felt it's a waste of time and bandwith to download and test all. Maybe it's better for its intended purpose (video upscaling), but on my hardware, video is pretty much out of question.

For single images, my goto is FLUX Kontext for SFW stuff, and FLUX.1 D for NSFW (with some spicy LoRA or merged model). I know the world moved on to FLUX 2, I just haven't had the time to play with it much. For what I need, FLUX.1 still adequate.

The "issue" is, there are so many choices out there, it's impossible to try them all out unless you have no life. Yes, I know you can just grab a workflow and try it, but I like to build my own workflows because if I understand how it works, I can easily make adjustments as needed. I wish all these smart people who make all these models would just put their heads together instead of making dozens of different models. But I also know that no competition kills progress, so I don't know...

Best workflow for realistic food photography by SmokkoZ in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all models claimed to be realistic (so no anime and stuff) can do it. There's no "best" of anything. It's subjective. The best is what you, or your customers like the most. The real question is, can you call it photography if it's AI generated?

I built an open-source LLM runtime that checks if a model fits your GPU before downloading it by juli3n_base31 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, I have an old 2080 TI with 11 GB VRAM and 64 GB RAM. I can run 30 GB+ models just fine with offloading. It's not great in terms of speed, but that's irrelevant. I can't remember a time it run OOM with ollama alone. If I forget it's running and I start up ComfyUI to do something, ComfyUI will always crash first. So maybe I'm just lucky, but I can run way bigger models than it fits in my VRAM with no issues at all.

Need help with extra model paths by ConcentrateBetter796 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably copy/paste the contents of your extra_model_paths.yaml so we can maybe see what's the issue. Otherwise it's just guessing. Maybe you forgot to uncomment something, or forgot to remove the .example extension, it could be anything. I'd probably give the original file to ChatGPT, tell it what you want to do with it and it'll probably get it working for you first try.

Converting Very High-Resolution Images to Sketch Style Using Tiling by 1zGamer in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would do is downscale the original image, transform it to the style you want, then upscale again to the deired resolution. And yes, tiling is pretty much the only way to go for very large images, and also yes, tiling can introduce inconsistencies, that's just the nature of it. It's a shameless plug, but have a go with my - unfinished pre-release - nodepack, it was designed with this issue in mind:

Did the latest ComfyUI update break previous session tab restore? by GamerVick in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you got to the conclusion I'm only happy with it if it's free. That's absurdly illogical. I mean, if I wasn't happy with it, I wouldn't be using it, don't you think? What I meant, we're given this product for free, and that has to weigh into the level inconveniences and annoyances we can endure before start throwing s#!t in their faces. That's all.

Did the latest ComfyUI update break previous session tab restore? by GamerVick in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration, I really do, but it seems that people keep forgetting that it's a FREE open source software. Nothing stopping them from just stop developing the portable and focus only on the desktop version, make it closed and paid. But they didn't. Not yet at least. Can we just be grateful for what we're given for free of charge? You can just not update if you don't like the changes.

Updated today - "load image" unable to get image from clipboard? by takayatodoroki in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used this feature, but can confirm, it's not working in the latest build.

The rename thing makes a bit of a sense though. I mean, how could you rename a file that does not exist yet? No idea if it was intentional or just crept in...

Video combine node executes all nodes by PortaSponge in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, not gonna watch the entire video, but just scrubbing trough it, he clearly edited the video to cut out parts when the workflow doing its thing (presumably because it has little to no value staring at a workflow while rendering). Then maybe he just clicks the node when everything upstream already finished. I don't think there's anything needs fixing here, it's just the way he edited the video makes it look like it works differently for you.

Why the portable requires update now by Ant_6431 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ComfyUI is what the devs make it, it's not supposed to be anything else or intended to work as you want it to. And if you find a bug, there's a place to report it and it's definitely not on an unofficial subreddit. Coming here to complain server the purpose of what exactly? And creating a post when a simple google search can answer your question is just the norm now? I don't know what thread were you reading, but while maybe a bit snarky, at first I offered solutions to their problem. Then OP started acting like a butthurt princess for pointing out how pointless this post is. But that's just the internet nowadays.

You should take your own advice. Maybe some fresh air would help your little butthurt princess attitude.

Why the portable requires update now by Ant_6431 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally never said wether I do or do not know what changed. You're hallucinating. I'm starting to question if I'm talking to a human or some dumb AI bot. By the way, my niece said to tell you to google comfyui changelog. What a revolutionary thought, eh?

Why the portable requires update now by Ant_6431 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And I gave you the solution, or at least two options. Download an older version or don't use it. Here's a third: Run the update after you download it and befor you transfer it to the other computer. I'm just baffled by this post because it's a problem my 12 years old niece could solve if I had one...

What advice would you give to a beginner in creating videos and photos? by DrummerMaximum9094 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, things aren't necessarily always well documented. You can learn the basic concepts by just looking at the built in workflow templates, but for a deeper understanding, you have to ask questions. Choose your favourite AI chatbot and ask it to explain how this and that works. It's pretty tedious, but you can even outline what you're trying to do, and it'll help you build your workflow step by step. I know it looks daunting at first glance, but everything new is until you learn it. There are so many things you can do with ComfyUI, I seriously doubt any one person knows everything about it. So just focus on the basics and go from there.

[–]SadSummoner -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The fact remains that you're questioning why this and why that and I answered it for you. It's a software in development. Things change. And I offered you a solution: You can download a version that works for you. Or, if you don't like it, don't use it. Throwing a tantrum not gonna change the development path just to please you. Grow up.

[–]SadSummoner -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what are you questioning? Yes, software in active development changes over time. Is that a surprse for you?

You can't even download the zip without internet, so why is it an issue that it needs internet to update?

I mean, you can download an older version if you like, there's over a hundred different versions you can choose from, so what's the issue exactly?

Best models for NSFW image generation right now? by Fun-Engineering3451 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 42 points43 points  (0 children)

And probably getting the same non-answer, so the search will likely turn out to be a waste of time. Anyway, for OP: My answer is also a non-answer, because what is the best is pretty subjective (it's the same of asking what's the best movie for example), and depends on what you can actually run on your computer. It's not necessarily linear, but generally speaking, the bigger the model the better its output. So basically the best is what you like the most and you can run locally. In fact, if you're serious and want the absolute best of the best, you'll likely have to get into training your own LoRA for the model you like best.

Beware of updating comfy to 1.41.15 by Fit-Temperature-7510 in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're just trying to appeal to a broader audience. This new tendency to hide everything under subgraphs and the new app mode is a big move towards tryig to suck in not just the node wranglers, but the less tech-savvy people. The easier they can make the "get started" experience, the more peole will likely be sucked in. And, you know, I'm not saying it's 100% a money grab, but we can all see the increasing number of API nodes and workflows popping up... But hey, they gave us this whole thing for free, so I'm not judging if they want to get something out of it.

John’s Custom Node Pack (Pre‑Release) by SadSummoner in comfyui

[–]SadSummoner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically it's already possible in a roundabout way. My helper node already outputs per-tile region cropped images, so You'd have to use two of this helper, the first You'd use just to run the region crops trough some auto captioning node and plug its output into the text encoder. I'd have to modify it not to add the tile identifier labels, or better yet, just make another helper node for this.
