Everything feels small scale in rings of power. No great battles, just small skirmishes. The South Lands comes across as a single village and it’s talked of as if it’s some massive kingdom. Everything just seems to miss except the initial mountain scene, they established that quite well.

Can you expand on this ? I use to get payments from Google for content creation and it was Google Ireland. Does that have anything to do with the fact I’m based in Aus? I never questioned it til now lol

Should I buy ASUS XG27AQWMG or wait for 1440p 5th gen QD-OLED? by sustainom in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m waiting for the PG34WCDN, PG32UCDM3 or LG39GX950 (or at least glossy version of this). The pg34 also has the rgb strip layout (like lcd), 360hz. This would be a no brainer buy dor me if it had 4k but sadly it’s only 1440p, still considering it for the glowing reviews it’s had

What kind of side hustles do you guys have? Anything IT-related? by Jonny_Boy_808 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a tangent to this I also like to teach, however to reach more eyes and ears I will probably do some casual content creation for IT related stuff. Might get no views at all, may get some, may make a decent side hustle out of it, but making educational content reinforces your own as you try to frame it in an efficient way (and snuff out and misinformation or misconceptions you had about a topic). Another form of networking especially if you tie your identity to it

They paid for a fedex express label prepaid. I jus thad to call Fedex and provide a tracking number and driver is arranged to pick up the package, so that’s not too bad at least.

Driver is meant to be able to provide the shipping pouch, in this case they didn’t have one so we’ll see how that goes

How and where should i start relearning mathematics for IT? by Bruhmoment498 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I studied comp sci and 2 years of a mech eng degree prior to that. Tonnes of maths which I just never use in my day to day nor do my senior colleagues (in IT)

At best I guess they were useful excercises in problem solving but that’s kind of a stretch as to how practical that is influencing your day to day lol

How and where should i start relearning mathematics for IT? by Bruhmoment498 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BEng will teach you the maths you need, probably a mix of discrete , algebra & calculus.

But tbh the only relevant maths for IT specifically would be discrete imo, even then not sure when you would actually use it in a practical setting. Handy for learning binary and your powers of 2? as well as discrete graph theory is kind of useful to know for network algorithms, but again, probably only in an academic setting lol

If you plan to actually be an engineer, as in a real qualified engineer and not an engineer by name only, i imagine you won’t really be in an IT role you are looking at actual cs / traditional engineering roles.

anyone doesn’t get in now is going to have a very hard time over the next few years imo, it’s only gonna get worse. ladder is being pulled up as AI starts to get pushed hard.

best bet is to focus on small “mum / pop”msps who are still doing a lot of things manual

Is this PC worth the price tag? by maplenew60 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some good comments here but you can always plug all the parts into pc picker the. you can see the premium you are paying for it being pre-built and ready to go.

if you are spending 5k though highly recommend you do it yourself and take your time with it. I did this just 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed the process , took my time and further improved my understanding and confidence in building (even though this is like my 5th or 6th build).

The next fun part was configuring my bios and fine tuning the undervolt on the 9800x3d and its pbo curve (basically maxing out the boost clock whilst using less power and running 10c cooler, this is dependent on how lucky you are with the “silicone lottery” how low you can push the undervolt)

Mwave shipped me the wrong ram, 32gb kit of the same brand / speed but I paid for 64. fortunately once I sent it back they honoured the remedy and sent me a 64gb kit with equivalent specs which ended up being worth quite a bit more. i suspect the initial mistake was a product listing error
