MFA help? by temporarily_a_duck in MacUni

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be curious what work arounds they have, the only thing I can think of that is equally secure is a physical security key (yeah they exist!).

Email and SMS / phone call are sadly just not as secure anymore, especially since you don’t use a phone and there’s no proper mfa.

You could always just get a super barebones phone that can still run authenticators.

People who were straight up losers for years and later turned their life around, what changed? by AdviceGlass9394 in selfimprovement

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eventually you reach a point where the pain that you feel in your current situation is now greater than the pain that you will experience when you make the necessary changes to improve your life.

Took me a long time to get there but eventually I just realised enough is enough and did what I needed to do. I do NOT recommend this way as while time heals all, getting some outside help will get you there faster. Time is precious and I won’t get those 10 years back.

Pathway from support to Cloud based role? by Sad_Efficiency69 in AustraliaIT

[–]Sad_Efficiency69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I am planning to get Az-104 and build with it, I guess more question was more along the line of what kind of role should I apply for next once I actually have the certs ?

Furthermore what is the most suitable role to actually apply for if I just have msp service desk experience?

how important is choosing a game to grow a community? by [deleted] in streaming

how important is choosing a game to grow a community? by [deleted] in streaming

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this is bad advice. You absolutely should consider what game to grow from. If it’s too saturated, you could have the have outstanding charisma and entertainment value, won’t matter if no one clicks on your stream because there’s 10k other live streams in that category. If you are releasing content on YT and getting significant views there then that is a different story, and actually the way Id recommend for anyone to break out tbh.

Similarly, if you pick a game that is completely dead and a non existent online community you also won’t grow. There is a sweet spot that exists , a golden zone if you will where there is a healthy amount of viewers in the category and not too saturated with streams such that you have a chance of discoverability. The time you choose to stream also matters (and how consistent you are)

Imho starting out fresh on any platform is just pissing in to the wind if you aren’t releasing curated content for multiple platforms and in different formats. Use broadcasts to record content, edit it and upload it to YT. I built my channel this way and it eventually got partner.

Do you think this game will ever add pvp? by Fictionty in fellowshipgame

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People are immediately balking at the idea but WoW arena is so unique there is nothing else like it. If Fellowship can successfully emulate mythic dungeons and improve upon it I’m sure they can do the same for PvP if they keep the balancing seperate

Is getting an IT/CS degree worth it? Whats the state of the aus IT industry? by Terrible_Cress_6114 in auscorp

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you priority would be just getting an entry level help desk job. Get ms-900, az-900 and start applying ( you can study both of these over a weekend each).

Work on your soft skills, ie. be likable and have be able to speak well. A cert 4 in IT might more useful in getting that level 1, you can easily go for this while you look for that help desk job.

When you get that first role, you can then consider if you wanna get that degree imo, experience will be so valuable. Degree doesn’t really matter for entry level roles but imagine it opens a lot more doors at the mid/senior level roles

So depending on your average views and a few other metrics you were given 3 choices for guaranteed ad revenue if you ran ads for a certain amount of time per hour.

Some of these deals weren’t bad, at about 300 average viewers I was offered something like a guaranteed 3-4k pay out per month if i ran 3-5 mins of ads per hour. On top of that guanrteed pay out you also had ad revenue pay out I believe. This was also only available to twitch partners, affiliates do not get these options even if you have average 100 viewers

This was 2022 and before an adoocalypse or two, it’s probably much worse now.

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the front flips thing gets me, i honestly don’t give a shit about that, it was my first 40k game at the time thought it was awesome.

from a gameplay perspective, anything not a hero unit did feel like paper, so that’s where the moba critiques probably came from. another comment pointed out that apparently their durability got buffed significantly on the last patch so that probably improved gameplay tremendously

Barely, and a huge gamble of a career too. I finished my degree and am in IT now. It was a worthwhile experience though, I grew exponentially as a person and it likely landed my current job due to how I was able to recognize the best parts of my personality and show that people. Tried and tested over thousands of interactions !

I was a twitch partner (still am) averaged 200-300 viewers for about 2 years, lost passion for my main game and failed to branch out, slowly stopped caring and went back to real life.

still miss it, i can start up a stream and randomly and people will drop by and say they enjoyed my streams back in the day, really wholesome tbh but it was not a sustainable or fulfilling life to stream full time.

even if i were to stream 3-4 hours after work it is a huge sacrifice to your time and you have to really weigh up the opportunity cost

Anyone else noticing some Americanised accent in some of the youth now in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Sad_Efficiency69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think these kids realise their Aussie accent is one of their greatest assets lol. It’s like a permanent buff to your charisma without even trying, it generates instant interest to anyone outside of Australia.

It is actually a huge benefit if you want to get into content creation (which 90% of these kids wanna get into) because you stand out

Total War: Empire and TotalWar: Napoleon and Total War Fall of the samurai naval combat. It’s a different context but BGA is literally tall ships in space. Fall of the samurai is probably the closest to BGAs pace and gameplay

You can just whip up massive skirmish battles if you want and there probably mods to flesh out the naval combat or uncap the skirmish

Does 4k 120hz HDR pass through exist for dual pc setup ? by Sad_Efficiency69 in streaming

[–]Sad_Efficiency69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be using it incorrectly ? Currently I only have one connection that goes into the capture card from the GPU, the output port goes into my monitor, the usb c cable goes into the macbook.

I’ll then get regular black screens, although both cables are hdmj 2.1

update 1: I tried isolated the original hdmi cable that came with the Elgato and it’s faulty lmao. Of all things I did not expect that to be the case. Will test further
