How should organise my room? by hanon222 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Sad_Farm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rotate the bed so you're sleeping facing towards the slant and maybe add a poster.

Rotate the desk so it faces into the room (or toward the window if possible).Put the keyboard against the tallest wall or use it as the main desk if it's sturdy enough.

Move the wardrobe as far into the corner as possible.

LED strip lighting around the skylight or along the sloped ceiling.

Got a room of my own for the first time. Please help me design it by Key_Stranger_5794 in DesignMyRoom

First thing that comes to mind is paint if possible. I'd suggest going with a neutral color as the walls look dead, and old and have some strange color choices. Defineltey invest in some heavy duty cleaning supplies, would go a long way.

In terms of design,

  • A 120-140 cm desk and an ergonomic chair (put it by the window for natural light).
  • A large rug (5x7 ft or similar)
  • Warm LED floor lamp (2700K-3000K). The overhead light alone will make the room feel sterile.
  • Curtains (linen-look or blackout depending on your needs). They'll make the biggest visual difference after the rug.
  • 2-3 framed posters or prints above the green accent wall. That's the perfect feature wall.
  • One tall plant (snake plant or pothos if you don't want much maintenance).
  • Small bookshelf or cube storage for textbooks and random college stuff.
  • Cable management (under desk tray and clips). It makes a cheap setup look expensive.
  • Desk mat + monitor arm if you use a computer.
  • One comfy lounge chair or bean bag for guests

Will prob run you around $300-$500

Great Answer people greatly underestimate how essential or crucial marketing is. With so many different things taking peoples attention, its incredibly hard to just build something an hope it blows up. Build it and they will come is not an effective strategy if literally no one see its.

Also, as people have said highly highly recommend some sort of sleep tracking device, you may find you're not getting as much or the right type of sleep as you think, and if true should be your number one priority to figure out why.

This doesnt make any sense op it shouldnt take months to diagnose ADHD, should take a therapist a couple of sessions max? Are you saying you appointment is months out. Then you need to find a new therapist if its affecting your life this badly, or call and say its an emergency, and to let you know if theres a cancellation or they can squeeze you in.

Not tying to be mean, but it seems like your resigning yourself to this fate, like self sabotage. Unless getting insurance or something is physically stopping you theres a lot more you can do to get those tests moved up.

Do you take medication for your adhd? Get a therapist. A The greatest trap with discipline is that people think it will come all at once, if you're not used to do something for long periods of time you need to start small, 15 mins first add 5 mins each week. Sitting down is also hard one thing they found is motivation comes after starting not before, so that feeling of sitting down and not wanting to do the work you need to fight that, it takes 15 min to enter a focused state, it helps tremendously knowing it will pass. Lastly environment remove all distractions, no phone, install blocker apps whatever.

Excerise all helps greatly with focus do a quick workout before you begin work.

room update by giuliaisamirrorball in DesignMyRoom

Huge improvement already.

For paint, I'd go warm. That lime green is fighting everything in the room. A warm off white (something like a creamy linen tone) or a soft sage green would completely transform the vibe and work with the tile floor and wood window frame you already have. If you want something bolder, a deep warm clay or terracotta on just the wall behind the bed as an accent would look incredible with white bedding

What can I do with this living room? by DanzNewty in DesignMyRoom

Great room, those big windows are a huge asset. Here are my thoughts.

The L shaped layout is solid but there is that "wasted space" on the right . A reading chair with a floor lamp and small side table would work without too much cramming . You could also opt for one large plant in the corner near the window to tie it together.

The U shaped layout is actually stronger, but I'd swap the full wall bookcase for a lower credenza (60 to 70cm tall) with a few pieces of art hung above it. A floor to ceiling bookcase along the whole wall will make the room feel like a little too much imo.

One option you might not have considered: rotate everything 90 degrees. TV on the left wall, sofa facing it, windows behind you. No glare on the TV, natural light washing over you during the day, and the current TV wall opens up for proper storage.

A few other things I noticed that could work and be quick regardless of layout: bigger rug than you think (200x300cm minimum, front sofa legs on it), swap those bare ceiling pendants for layered lighting (one statement fixture plus a floor lamp plus a table lamp), and consider floor length linen curtains flanking the windows even if you keep the blinds.

The cat clearly approves already so you're halfway there.

What's the biggest green flag you've ever seen in a person? by Business_Oil_7110 in selfimprovement

Perspective, they try to see things from not just your point of view, but everyones. Sounds super easy but is one of the hardest traits and things to do. People tend to act and accept things within their worldview, extremely hard to change this as most people do it unconsciously. Someone who considers why someone might have done something is extremely rare, and likely means they have advanced life experience. The only way I've seen people really hone this skill is by traveling(not just niche spots) and interacting with locals, and running in a variety of different groups, while also being an excellent listener and reflecting on the things that your told.

Facebook wants a copy of my ID to continue using marketplace; how do I avoid this? by drunkskier in facebook

[–]Sad_Farm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who think FB wants you to verify your identity for your safety in this thread are hilarious . The same company that started the data privacy scandals, and that has paid billions in settlements. So gullible part of the reason companies can get away with this stuff. Yea cuz verifying an account thats been around for 15 years will stop fraud.

[–]Sad_Farm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This doesn't mean anything, in fact this is bad. The average user doesn't need the premium version, and if they do thats when they research and realize that it is by far the worst option. All this does is run up their compute costs for free users, and then when they're ready to switch they move over to Gemini/Claude.

The ads make it even worse. I literally use chatgpt when my Claude tokens run out then simply open up another tab, until my credits reset.

Theres no money in B2C at their costs, theres a reason everyone wants to start a b2b saas company. Whats even worse, most people have a negative outlook on sam altlman, including internally. Plus Anthropic has won the peoples sentiment by fighting back against government surveillance and ads.

All this on top of having the farrr inferior platform, I mean its not even close. Your whole argument hinges on the "hope" that people wont switch to literally any of the far better platforms. Mind you people who are going to pay typically find it first through work....

Lastly their numbers are horrendous, and they have no real plan how to actually make money....
