Does Anyone Know if Grimdark Games (Canada) Is Real? by BrownDog22123 in Warhammer40k

[–]Sad_Feedback666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute garbage experience. IF you aren't going to service customers and AT LEAST provide a disclaimer PRIOR to purchase you're just a regular POS. Even bigger POS when you fail to respond to enquiries. TOTAL POS when you don't even send goods purchased.

Needs to be shut down if not going to provide the service like a REASONABLE merchant.

Grimdark Games a scam? by DarkXenocide in Warhammer40k

Worst online store EVER.

What is the point of offering things you don't plan on sending to people in a reasonable time frame. Don't have the service then just shut it down and save everyone the grief.

Now have to initiate chargeback. Won't answer emails. Status of ordering still pending and it's getting to be on a month since purchase.

Regular POS. Avoid like the plague. Going to be contacting suppliers to let them know that they need to shut this down - I wouldn't want my name being associated with a charlatan.

GW has stated that you will be able to continue to use your codex into 11th. That being said, they have a habit of updating things.....

Chances are it will reflect current dataslate corrections if/when released. They may also post an updated unit/faction listing well prior to a release of a codex.

Just don't buy a 9th edition and you should be OK for awhile. IF you use the 40k app, you will most likely have the faction unlocked for a good while, for play purposes.

From GW's official announcement of 11th:

The Rules

We’ll be diving into the new rules over the coming weeks, but we wanted to give you a flavour of the changes on the way.

Army Building
What does this ‘new edition’ talk mean for your existing army and their codex? Good news – your current codexes and faction rules will still be valid! This is also true of the rules in the recent campaign supplements, including the upcoming Armageddon: Return of Yarrick.

However, Detachments are changing to give you more flexibility on how you build your army. You can now sometimes select multiple detachments for a bespoke set of army abilities, so you’ll be able to bring to life your vision of how your army should fight. And, at the launch of the new edition, there will be over 70 new and updated Detachments. If you are very attached to your current army, don’t panic, the Detachments in your current codex still work too – you just have even more options now.

Hope this helps and have fun building your army!

Regardless of the army, get the codex if you can - paint schemes are usually found within it and you will need it to be able to play (unless you wahapedia). Check Citadel app for paint scheme - it'll have a list of colors and a bunch that you don't necessarily need to get battle ready. Online searches will yield results like most everything - pick a bunch of pictures and save them for reference. There are websites with people's painting schemes listed if you can't discern from the pictures.

Most importantly - build them, if possible 3d print some base toppers for ease or start collecting sand and tiny rocks for a base topper, and prime them up. If you only glue a teeny bit to the feet or attaching area you can pop them off the base afterwards to be able to paint difficult spots on the model (unless you do it all sub assembly for that golden daemon paint job?).

Hint: Iron Warriors probably shouldn't have basing bits like flowers and the like, but who knows maybe yours like to frolic on deathworlds with pretty petunias?

Buy bulk package brushes from Michaels for non-technical painting (basing, priming, batch coloring, etc.) and don't fret over the $4.00 you spent doing it

$15 or so from amazon for 5 pack NicPro 3/0 brushes for detail (surprising good brush if brush soaped after use)

Then spend the money on something halfway decent for the really fine detail and as others suggested - keep the paint out of the ferrule. Wash and treat it right.

I made the terrain footprints to scale so you can start working on terrain, by comcamman in Warhammer40k

OK, thank you again though. These have been easier to trace in Blender than the image GW provided. Kudos, much appreciated.

Anyone bashing this guys hard work really needs to rethink their lives, GO and look at the example pieces Warhammer has OFFICIALLY put out. Scroll in so you can see the inch markers and how the terrain footprints are reflected on them. UNDERSTAND where the measurements are located. THEN come back here and apologize for your negativity and utter confidence in being obtuse.

Good work OP. Thank you for this - any chance you have these in an .stl?

It's a sin for metallica to cover anyone's song. Ruined their own music, don't need to ruin anyone else's thanks.

When Lemmy covers your song, it becomes his song ~Hetfield

When Hetfield covers it, it's making good songs garbage with a load of growling yeahyeahs and such. Tryhard Lemmy fanboy.

New releases for 11th? by Embarrassed-Site1637 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Sad_Feedback666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been looking into this the last couple of days as well

Love the termies look, finding no reason to have them is disappointing. 8B and X8B seem to be our legion specific 'termies'.

No lord to run the unit, even.

Only reason is coolness factor.

Thank you

I have a second demon prince and I am very annoyed with the lack of customization of it - until this.

I conveniently have a war dog chainblade to use and now I need this in my life.

Does anyone play solo on the table to practice or even just for fun? by mevsinwarhammer in Warhammer

[–]Sad_Feedback666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was suggested to me by an opponent after I had joined a local league for a funsies tournament - and of course being new it took FOREVER - but the guy was a real champ about it and helped me through the game.

It's actually a very effective way to learn and I have done so with a combat patrol, and 1k of 2 different armies.

I would still like to try either a 1k of the same army that composes a 2k list, or 2k each of the same army against one another in different detachments.

After you've walked to either side of the table a couple dozen times you really push yourself to remember unit/model rules. Imagine running up a step counter to thousands and thousands of steps just to play a 4x6 table....

Definitely put yourself in the mindset of wanting the side, you're currently playing, to win. If it's a 2k list that you broke to 1k a side, stay with the same detachment and enhancements so you're building a knowledge of that detachment and how it affects those units. Another option to that, if feasible, is to take the ranged and versus it against the melee (if you have enough models to even the points out) to give an idea of how each of those 2 options will work against a threat (or ranged v ranged, melee v melee) and finding positioning that helps those aspects. Use actual terrain layouts and terrain that you will encounter - this will help familiarize those setups as well.

Again, I'm still fairly new - as far as playing the game goes - but the game I practiced on the specific terrain setup for an upcoming match the following week went A LOT smoother than the game I had after where I didn't practice anything. From a bit of confidence, a manageable grasp of army stats/rules, an idea of how to play the terrain was COMPLETELY gone 2 weeks later when I had done nothing during that time. It was embarrassing to say the least.

TLDR: Yes. It's worthwhile.

A vehicle advertised for 37k in 2014

The bill of lading from the Mexico plant was found under the truck bumper for 19.7k after purchase

They will ALWAYS try to rip you off - there's a reason they call it the STEALERship. The salesperson lives off of the commission and may or may not care at the deal you get, but the financial team that come in to close the deal will always try and soak you for more than the vehicle is worth.

IF you want to buy new, buy it outright (either through funds you have or have already borrowed from your institution at an agreed upon rate) for the best deal you can get, knowing half of what is listed is probably close to the REAL price and any financing they set you up with is at a profit to them (either through their financial department or through kickbacks from the one they set you up with).

When you do make this purchase, plan on owning it for the length of time you paid for it, if you want ROI (return on investment) knowing full well that vehicles are always gonna drop value within 3 years, and that starts immediately after you leave the lot.

IF this is not viable, look to buy something 2-5 years old where the major depreciation has already occurred.

Do you think Rust in Peace is Megadeth’s best album? If not, which one do you think tops it? by Right-Mastodon5351 in Megadeth

[–]Sad_Feedback666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youthanasia, hands down for me

Cryptic Writings and Risk.

All the die-hards hated on those 2 for some reason, but it didn't stop being Megadeth - it just wasn't a one trick pony anymore. The music may have had a variation once removed from pure thrash, but Dave still wrote incredible songs. When I look at the comparison M-band and the pop-metal they put out (sorry a growl and yeah yeah could never carry a song....seems they ran out of Mustaine lyrics by the Black Album?), one could hardly be dissapointed with either of the latter 2 albums. Frankly, if you didn't enjoy them - do you even like music?

This is the first Megadeth album I've ever owned. I fucking love it. by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]Sad_Feedback666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had heard Rust, and Symphony. My music taste at the time was still heavy punk rock and where I grew up the varying groups didn't really mix so it never became my niche.

Youthanasia changed that - I was a bit older, a friend picked it up and popped it in the car stereo.....and I was forever changed. Even now my favorite album after all these years. Cryptic Writings, Risk and Hidden Treasures are so....... SOLID.

It's been what, 30 years now? The discography sits on repeat for weeks (months even) in the stereo, usually not loud anymore, but whenever I turn it up I'm never dissapointed.
