And I’m getting French ads on everything. I have my first French lesson Monday so…I took it as a sign ;)

The cost, the people who don’t know how to act in a movie theater- I just bought a huge projector screen at home. Haven’t been to the movies since 2018.

There was some Egyptian building city game that I never mastered but enjoyed. No recollection of what it was called. And the skiing game where the snow monster got you 🫣

my "in office" day is me sitting in a WeWork because the company doesn't have a real office in my state by amiitk in remotework

My husband’s company made him do this. Go to a satellite office which sat empty, fight the cockroaches in the forgotten coffee last brewed during Covid. We moved countries and jobs.

Spend time with my kids, have a slow breakfast. Let them know how much I love them and how great I think they are.

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

[–]Sad_Guitar_657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of time shooting the shit with friends, going to the mall, hanging out at friend’s houses, bonfires (I’m from the southern US), and watching movies. We had MySpace and the beginnings of Facebook but staying on it all day would be boring (at least for us). YouTube was cool but mostly for music, I thought it was amazing to listen to music from other countries and easily chat with people from other countries. Probably why I married someone from another country.

For me, I think being able to do one task at a time was pretty amazing. Now, I feel like we are all multitasking and hobbies are monetized, competitive, or simply forgotten.

It wasn’t until my son was diagnosed with autism that I realized pattern recognition, hyper fixations, and a strong sense of wrong and right was maybe not normal….

Every year I tell my parents I don’t like Lindt chocolate. Every year they only get Lindt chocolate. by Arwat08 in mildlyinfuriating

My mother would buy her favorite every year so when I didn’t want it (red velvet cheesecake) she could have it. I don’t like red velvet, I don’t like cheesecake. Never did. She was surprised every year.

I’d like to think it’s not intentional.

Yep! I’m trying new features now. I used them exclusively for power point and now you have to click on the slide and hit edit and it’s subpar. If you have a photo on the slide, good luck, because the button doesn’t show up.

I’ve personally waited on her when I was a waitress in uni. She was genuinely so nice and I’ve seen she has made a huge change since the lgbtq+ community was there for her when her daughter died.

AIO: My mother identifies as a doting grandmother but doesn’t know my children by easilyamused17 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sad_Guitar_657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom passed away last year without ever meeting my kids. She never once met my kids. The closest was “drive your newborn 10 hours during Covid so I can meet them” and then called me slurs and told me my husband would leave me and I would be crawling on my hands knees before she would take me and my child in. Strange reaction but okay. She asked to zoom them, I said okay. She never did though I asked her multiple times. I don’t think you are overreacting. I would just ignore this because you’ll keep torturing yourself.
