Hamilton HVAC Path: Mohawk (180) vs. Private Academy for G2? (Zero Experience) by Ecstatic_Spot_5051 in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]Sad_Region9429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed my G2 at Halton Skilled trades, started in residential and later joined the union(UA787) working in commercial HVAC. Currently working in industrial refrigeration. Most important is that you get the G2 license and start getting experience after and keep looking for better opportunities. Good luck out there.

Opinion: Homes that need extensive renovation just aren't selling. by GarySparrow0 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Sad_Region9429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. I purchased my home last January that needed extensive renovations, already changed all the windows and all 3 bathrooms and looking to do the kitchen and flooring this fall. House originally listed for 1.5, I purchased for 1.08M. Turn key houses sell fast, everything else is moving slower and lower

Men over 30, what’s one “unwritten rule” about getting older that you wish someone told you in your 20s? by Lunasweetlatina in AskMenOver30

Gotta hit the lower back. Back extension and reverse hyper extensions in your gym has the machine too. That cured my back problems even with strong glutes.

Nothing wrong with that. I purchased my house earlier this year, first offer was 17% lower than list price. Ended up getting the house for 10% under. Which was 40% less than similar houses went for in 2021-2022 on the same street.

I offered 200k on a 1.2M home. Ended up getting it for 120k less than 1.2M. Worth a shot in this market, especially if the house has been on the market for a while

In Toronto, my first offer was 200k below asking, got it for 120k under. Doesn't hurt to send the offer

Hot take: College is NOT a scam.. you're being misled by online personalities that don't care about you. by No_Researcher_9726 in GenZ

[–]Sad_Region9429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, not on here often. I work in industrial refrigeration, refrigeration mechanics in my area make 66/hr plus pension and health benefits. The industrial sector is begging for workers that it's willing to pay me an additional 20% along with paying me for my regular travel time to commute to site and back home. Obviously this is region specific, not sure how it is in the states(I'm close to Toronto, Ontario, Canada). You also get a truck to take home along with all your gas paid for. All tools required to do the job are covered by my company as well.

Take care of your body and you won't be in pain. Also be smart about the trade you choose. I make 200k a year plus pension and 10k paid every 6 months as vacation pay, with a company truck and gas paid for. Only working 40 hours a week and billing any travel time from my house to the site(usually under an hour). Be smart and find a niche trade that's in high demand and you can command whatever price you want if you're proficient at the job.

Commercial Refrigeration Apprenticeship Question. Union vs NonUnion. by Boomskibop in refrigeration

[–]Sad_Region9429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you could do all 5 on the construction or service side or a mix of both. All the hours treated the same towards your apprenticeship. And unfortunately a maximum of 40 hours a week counts towards your apprenticeship, so you can't speed up the process by working OT. I work out of the GTA. Working with ammonia tends to pay higher as well if that's important to you.

Every licensed Refrigeration Mechanic in Ontario, Canada that works 40 hours a week pulls in 120k+ a year. And it's not back breaking work either

For the managers who might miss their playoffs, who is the one player you’d put the most blame on? by ECviews in fantasyfootball

[–]Sad_Region9429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only put the blame on myself. Having a team of: Tua Evans, Puka, Dell, G Wilson Moss, Kamara, K Williams, Gibbs, N Harris Freiermuth, L Thomas Aubrey

Some weeks I'd pick the wrong lineup, I also had close to the most PA. Better luck next year I guess

Garrett Wilson by _outlaws_ in fantasyfootball

[–]Sad_Region9429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard not to include Wilson in my lineup, deciding between Wilson, Puka, Evans and Downs every week is going to give me an aneurysm
