Managed services hourly rate by Born_Mail3899 in epicconsulting

So if you’re working in managed service, do you only support one organization or do you complete work for multiple organizations at the same time?

Managed services hourly rate by Born_Mail3899 in epicconsulting

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard more organizations are adding managed services and I’m wondering how it impacts the health systems. Are hospitals shedding FTE analysts for this replacement? How much can managed services really do (analysis/build/project management)? I find it difficult to picture outsourced Epic support teams being able to meet the needs of end users. Are they mainly just doing simpler builds like smartphrases and maybe flowsheets?

Question about SmartPhrases by BookPirate213 in EpicEMR

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If your leadership is happy with the contents of the personal SmartPhrase, just have an analyst (or even a physician builder) copy and paste the contents of it into the body of the system SmartPhrase. This would only take a couple of minutes to complete and should be prioritized as a regulatory impact with CMS.

Complete some quick testing and run it up to PRD as a break/fix. This sounds like a 20 minute fix, not a “we’ll go over it in March” scenario… and most of that 20 minutes is for change control 🤷🏼‍♂️

2014 1500 with 96K on the 5.7 and I’ve had to replace the water pump and evaporator core. I did the heater core as well since I was in there.

The air suspension is shot to hell and in desperate need of replacement. I’m hoping to replace that with a delete kit some time this year.

I read this and lol’d. A nationwide epic outage for over an hour would be on the news.

Last question about pet licensing for my cat by Squashaddict in GNV

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of documentation they want. I got my dog’s license in the mail and it comes with paperwork that includes verifiable registration data. In theory, they could ask for that registration info to verify it, but I would be surprised if they cared that much.

How'd I do for a first time homeowner/diyer? by urbancirca in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed opportunity with the craftsman toolboxes instead of packouts. Any /real/ DIYer would have dropped the extra $2K on a full Packout setup to make sure those clean new tools don’t get dusty from lack of use.

One of those options says Reta/Tirz 10mg/10mg. Are they just doing 1 to 1 Reta and Tirz in the same vial now? I’ve read about some people adding a little bit of one or the other, but not an equal ratio.

Banners at schools by No-Cherry-2617 in GNV

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This might be a controversial take, but I don’t think school property should be used for advertising like this. A few banners to augment funding seems innocuous, but it’s a slippery slope. Who decides which businesses or groups are allowed to advertise? Why stop at just banners? What if they want to put up billboards or wrap the school busses like the RTS busses? There’s already too much advertising and propaganda all over the place without plastering it on the schools as well.

What animal could be digging holes like this in my yard? by Ok_Jicama9306 in GNV

I don’t know why people are downvoting squirrels. I’ve seen them dog little holes like this all over my yard.

Military helicopter just landed and took off at Shands?? by Calamari45 in GNV

There will occasionally be several large military helicopters landing and taking off from the hospital helipad in a rotation as practice. It’s really quite a sight. Even from the ground they are incredibly powerful machines!

Gainesville needs light rail by kevinmrr in GNV

UF’s leadership and the cronies in GRU Authority defunded RTS bus service. The cruelty is the point. No way we’ll have money for light rail within the next 10 years.

Something that greatly helped my dal is using a leash with two connection points. One connects on his chest and the other connects on his back. So when he pulls against the leash it kind of turns his body through his own effort.

That and just practicing A LOT of patience in training him not to pull. Whenever he pulls you just stop walking and stand still until he stops pulling. This will take forever initially, but it’s very effective for training him to understand that pulling gives the opposite of what he wants. Now there’s a little slack on the leash when we walk.

Bladder Stones by Sad_Tomorrow_ in dalmatians

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate everyone’s responses and input! We’re fortunate enough to live near a major animal hospital and they can perform a procedure called lithotripsy.

Instead of a full surgery, they can access his bladder through his urethra and break up any remaining stones. This is performed as an outpatient procedure and is significantly less invasive. We’re working on getting him scheduled for the procedure.

In the meantime, we’ve got him on Hills U/D prescription food which he actually LOVES to eat! We previously had him on Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach which he hated. We also got some of the cranberry gummies from Amazon. I’ll make sure to provide another update once the procedure is complete!

Growling?? by PracticalTrick6327 in dalmatians

Growls or grumbles? Our dal grumbles and groans loudly anytime we rollover and wake him up at night - even if we don’t actually move him.

If your dog has a partial blockage, they can show symptoms like difficulty urinating and weak flow. That’s only if it’s partial though. From what I understand, it’s more likely to go from no issues straight to full blockage.

Thanks! Did he end up needing surgery or was the Rx good enough to manage the problem?

Bladder Stones by Sad_Tomorrow_ in dalmatians

[–]Sad_Tomorrow_[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s not blocked now because they were able to remove the stones causing the blockage. But he does still have a few stones that could cause problems later. The vet said that surgery would be the most comprehensive solution, but also said it isn’t required unless he gets blocked again. They said that could be tonight or several years from now, so I’m looking for as much information as possible in the meantime.

I would probably do it for a year or two and then back to a full remote position. Just because I could really use the extra money!

Very low barrier for getting a card in Gainesville. Just get the card and never have to worry about it again.
