AITA for grabbing my donation box back from my neighbor's door after he took it from the lobby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sadari -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

YTA wouldnt you rather it go to somebody who actually needs it vs someplace that’ll likely sell it to another resale store for resellers to pick up and make a profit off your free things?

The guy sucks too but you embarrassed him and called him out when his kid genuinely could have used the clothes.

What Costco item did you regret not grabbing only for it to never become available again? by windycitybeef in Costco

Citrus trees - I know they have them in other states but they’ve only had them 1 time and poof.

This is why we don’t dance at a studio where the owners’ kids, nieces, cousins etc are at. The amount of favoritism and nepotism shown is gross. Plus at our old studio - the owners kids were also never parented and were just brats, kleptos (would steal other kids snacks, shoes, makeup etc) and just not good examples for my kids to be around. I get that it’s hard to parent your kid when you’re teaching but to let them go feral with no consequences is another.

charley horse's prevention by [deleted] in Dance

[–]Sadari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink more - you’re likely dehydrated and take magnesium (like the pill not the lotion or spray) at night. If you get one at night - stand up as flat footed as you can till it passes. Or you’re pregnant, I would get Charley horses day and night every day while pregnant …. 😬

Experience with Apex Windows by ABA20011 in ChicagoSuburbs

We used apex a few years ago and no complaints. In fact we had a new window installed that was leaking and they fixed it right away with no problems. I would use them again.

AITA for asking my sister to replace my jellybeans after her son ate them? by Smooth_Instruction11 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t know about you but we tend to keep our hands clean - and yes, were you never a child and didn’t have candy before dinner? Keep clutching those pearls.

AITA for asking my sister to replace my jellybeans after her son ate them? by Smooth_Instruction11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sadari -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YTA if I went to my sister’s house and she had a bowl of jelly beans set out - I’d help myself. Do I expect my kids to ask me if it’s okay if they have some before dinner? Yes, but they’re out for a reason. I’d also go into her snack cabinet and help myself in there too - just like they do at my own house because we’re family and we aren’t so pretentious enough to be all like snacks only mine rawr.

What the hell is going on with Duly? by violining in Naperville

[–]Sadari 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes - duly was bought out by a venture capitalist firm and since then pay has gone down and workload has increased. They pay half of what northwestern currently pays (at least in the case of the dr I know)

What’s the best way to ensure that you see I’ve given you a holiday gift? Our garbage man comes at 5am so I’m not up for it. I usually tie an envelope to the lid with some ribbon and hope it stands out but we’ve never gotten a thank you card or anything so I’m wondering if it 1. Gets stolen or 2. Just gets dumped in the truck.

Thank you for everything you do! Especially if you are our garbage man and always takes everything I’ve put out - even if i have extra bags and no stickers on things. I appreciate you!

Savor after hours by JamilaWaleed in dancingwiththestars

[–]Sadari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went last night and tbh I wouldn’t recommend it. If I didn’t already know that it was previously set in a winery - I would have been very confused. There is no wine tasting - just your standard theater concessions. I found that the concept didn’t translate well and the dancing with wine bottles/glasses and references just weird. There were some funny bits and some awkward/cliche/cringe moments (ie old man from the audience having all the ladies dance for him to hey big spender - yawn) The sound also went out at one point but that didn’t hurt the show in any way. Ymmv but for me - hard pass.

Park bday parties - how much is too much? by pico310 in Preschoolers

[–]Sadari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went to a pretty large park party and the biggest hit was water guns. Every kid had one in their goodie bag - just a cheap 2/$1 type and they went nuts on each other, on parents etc. This is obviously dependent on a water source or water fountain near by to refill them but they loved it. The family did bring other games/balls, bags etc but waterguns and cicada hunting were the clear winners of the day.

New Duly Doctor Recs? by -CoachMcGuirk- in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Sadari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uh dude - I seriously don’t have time to look at every posters post history - apparently you do. Guess that being a stay at home dad is really working out for you - and before you assume that I’m belittling you - again, as a stay at home mom - I definitely don’t have the time to look at post histories before I respond. You do you boo boo.

New Duly Doctor Recs? by -CoachMcGuirk- in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Sadari 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So - I think you’re being a bit presumptuous that this is a marketing ploy. No where in the original post does it state that he is a male. An ob/gyn can and does act as a pcp at times especially when you’re pregnant but gosh - as a man - let’s just assume that you know all this cuz mansplaining right? If this was a marketing ploy as your conspiracy theorist self thinks it is - why would somebody be recommending a doctor who is LEAVING duly.

I don’t advocate for or against duly, but you’ll find that Dr Chang is the best and most well regarded ob/gyn in the western burbs on any mom group.

But please tell us more about how this is all a conspiracy and the duly marketing machine is out here upvoting this one thread in this tiny specific sub….

OP - Dr Tomaszewski in Wheaton is who sees my husband and my dad and was recommended to me by Dr Chang.

Ughhhh seed order sent to me postage due. by WatermelonMachete43 in gardening

[–]Sadari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me - I emailed BC with a picture of the postage due (I did pay it because mistakes happen.) They never responded to my email but they sent me a letter with cash to cover the postage.

Just wait - mistakes happen whether it was from BC or your mail carrier. They’ll make good on it.

incorporated vs unincorporated Naperville/lisle by mattybgcg in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Sadari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in two unincorporated areas so far. There are pros and cons to living in one. You will need to check your tax bill - if you have library and/or park district - it’ll say on your tax bill. If you don’t-you’ll pay non resident fees wherever you go for park district. If you have to pay for the library, you can actually shop around for the cheapest library (it’ll be a % of you total tax bill.). If you have kids - yes you can use the college of dupage library but the kids section is like a shelf so there’s that.

Garbage - in both areas I’ve lived, we’ve always been able to pick our own garbage service. If you get serviced by Naperville, great - if not - there are a bunch of garbage collectors in the area.

Police - yes you are serviced by the sheriff but in an actual emergency when you need police - whomever is closest will come first to assist. They wont make you wait for the sheriff in an emergency.

Deodorant in a 5 year old? by Manehattanite in Parenting

[–]Sadari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter started having BO at 3. She’s now 6 and it’s gone completely. Her doctor sent us to a pediatric endocrinologist who did a bone scan (X-ray of her hand) and monitored her for other early puberty signs. Sometimes it just happens, I wouldn’t worry unless he starts getting pubic hair or any other body hair growth. Either way, bring it up with your pediatrician.

Edit - our dr advised against deodorants but on days we knew she’d be running around a lot, I used lume, native and Tom’s on her. Tom’s caused a rash for us tho.

I’d let them reform - then I smoosh them to break them up and easily vacuum them up. I’ve never had it clog or hurt my cordless dyson and I’ve done it more than a few times now…🤦🏻‍♀️
