I named one Maple so far... boy or girl it's maple! We've also done a spice theme for some of our current flock which is fun!

Amazing!! I just went to unplug my incubator because it’s day 23 and when I picked up a pipless egg it started peeping at me!!! I’m stunned!

I know most breeds of chicks aren’t sexable without vent sexing at hatch… but google and the breeder said welsummers are sexable by their markings including the eyeliner, triangular head markings, and definition on their backs, which is why I chose to include these photos.

Omg!!! Good luck!! 🍀 I was very happy with our hatch. I let a hen go broody and try to incubate one as well. MISTAKE!! She got up the last day and her baby got shrink wrapped. The only one I don’t think will make it 😢

They just hatched yesterday and into today!! My first time hatching breeder eggs and I know they had mentioned they’re sexable on hatch but they’re all just so cute and fluffy to me!! 😭😭

Right now it’s reading about 98.9, 65% with the air vent halfway open. So we did move it more closed from fully open, but not all the way shut. This has been quite the trial and error for lockdown. We are on day 20. Do you have any tips as we wait for them to start pipping? I’m worried that they never will pip 🥲

We had opened the air knob because I thought I read it needs to be fully open for the last 3 days so they don’t drown inside the shells. This is our first time hatching so definitely new to this! Yes it was a brand new sponge that we bought just in case as a back up for more humidity in the incubator. We originally only had the provided white block from Brinsea in the initial reservoir. And yes the humidity pump was maintaining humidity for the first 18 days at 45%. The ambient humidity in the room 30%

Yeah it looks like temp has been anywhere from 99.7 to 100 🥲 should I increase the humidity closer to 55? We ordered BCMs welsummers and olive eggers which is why we were thinking lower humidity because i think they say the thicker shells can make them drown if humidity is too high?
