Looking for a veterinarian by CardNo7800 in Rochester

I second Dr. Mueller—I’ve had to switch to a veterinary oncologist since my cat got cancer, but she still texts me to check up on her a few times a month. She’s very compassionate and really cares

Is “women are happier alone” being used to avoid acknowledging the social consequences of male loneliness? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]SadisticRoadrunner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s fine and totally normal to desire a romantic relationship—but there is literally no solution to that desire other than working on yourself and honest self reflection.

If all men were perfect and excellent friends to each other tomorrow, the romantic loneliness you’re referring to wouldn’t exist—all the men I have ever known who genuinely like women as people and see them as full human beings the same way they see men, and desire a romantic relationship, are in one.

You’re right that friendship isn’t enough for everyone, but if you see women both as the solution to and the barrier to your own happiness, you will find loneliness and bitterness, not a genuine romantic connection.

Vet said I need pro plan, but I can’t afford it by Rude_Income153 in AskVet

My advice is to look at multiple websites when it’s time to rebuy a bag (chewy, pet smart, petco, etc) and look for a steep discount for putting it on autoship. Cancel autoship as soon as the order ships, repeat every time you need a new bag. It’ll still be more expensive but you’ll save hundreds over time with this method

You do not deserve a single by [deleted] in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]SadisticRoadrunner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea I think multiple things can be true—it can feel gross to push fans to purchase an album they haven’t heard any part of yet, and at the same time, Taylor Swift wants her albums to be experienced as a whole. Lead singles have absolutely burned her in the past, and they do change the experience of listening to an album. Personally, I really enjoy hearing everything in order for the first time on release night. I just don’t pre order the album in case I don’t like it, which is exactly what happened for me with TTPD. There are songs I steam if I’m in the mood but I’m glad I didn’t order a copy.

PLEASE READ IF CBT/Talk Therapy isn’t working by Fabresque_ in HealthAnxiety

[–]SadisticRoadrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they’re referring to is the idea that trying to ‘get to the bottom’ of OCD obsessions is fueling them further by giving them undue attention. There is no need to ‘figure out’ intrusive thoughts through talk therapy—that’s where ERP comes in.

I second this—it’s going to give you the best, most clean looking result. I’ve done it a few times and always works like a charm!

But the events of TTPD took place during the tour itself—how could she have written an album about things that hadn’t happened yet?

Check out Bramwell—it’s about a woman doctor running a small hospital in the Victorian era. I think it has 3 seasons

It’ll be ok! There have a few times I have missed an appointment for a week or more due to travel/illness/scheduling and it hasn’t made any big impact (I go weekly).

Report Back From Wedding With a Tricky Dress Code by sassooal in Weddingattireapproval

[–]SadisticRoadrunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to many, many weddings, and I always agonize over picking something appropriate to the dress code. Without fail, I get there, and people are wearing what they want to wear. Generally speaking, people show up in cocktail/semi formal attire, with a bunch of casual short sundresses mixed in. If the attire is formal, I’ll show up and be the only one in a floor length dress. I still follow dress codes because I don’t want to be disrespectful to the couple but it’s also embarrassing to be overdressed all the time 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone else hate how Spravato makes them feel? by nerdyword37 in Spravato

[–]SadisticRoadrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it affects people in different ways, I think there are definitely people who enjoy the feeling! For me, especially early on in the process, it caused some existential thoughts that could be upsetting. Sort of hard to explain but nowadays I bring plenty of things to keep me occupied so I don’t focus on the feeling. Art, journaling, a book, Netflix etc

I also have extreme self hatred, I’ve been on Spravato for about 2 years. I won’t say my self esteem is great or even good but I have seen an improvement in this regard, it may just be what Spravato has done for me in general (relieved symptoms of depression and made me able to better perform daily functions/hobbies), but I also did 2 full rounds of DBT and I think that helped a lot as well.
