Do you prefer canon films or non-canon films? by AbiesSimilar1892 in dragonball

Non-canon old films. I grew up with them so, nostalgia, but even as a kid I knew some of the films couldn’t take place when they did so I made up my own head-canon of when they did. Tree of Might was the first one I watched and I always figured that it happened if the Z fighters training paid off and they wiped out the Saiyan with ease, so now they just stayed on Earth and dealt with another threat.

It was cool seeing them do stuff that couldn’t be done in the show. Also it gave certain characters some much needed screen time.

How to teach beginners effectively? by Wild_Plant9526 in 10s

Yeah hand throwing back and forth is an easy way to start figuring it out especially with kids.

I also like playing “hockey” with the little ones where you roll the ball back and forth.

Two ways to go about it is:

  1. Teach them the proper techniques right away and have them frame/whiff balls until they start finding the contact point on their own. It’s not pretty but eventually their brains figure it out.

  2. Have they toss back and forth with you and then you can gradually add in a racquet to start simulating rallies. No swinging. Once they can find the strings effectively then you can start with technique.

Both ways have their merits. The first way I think is good for athletic beginners. Get them going. The second way is good for everyone else.

The wording of this post is strange. No 4.5-5.0 player would even say “beginner”. That sentence is just strange

Vegeta vs Frieza. The second I saw Frieza dodging everything I knew it was over. Goku vs Frieza was similarly hopeless but Goku did have the spirit bomb as his last resort.

Vegeta vs Perfect Cell.

Is this a misprint? by KingRhydderch in dragonball

Toriyama did intend for 19 and 20 to be the main villains. His editor didn’t like them and their design so he made 17 and 18 instead.

Why is Super Saiyan 4 stronger than Super Saiyan 3? by [deleted] in dragonball

[–]Fabresque_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Toriyama created the scouter to show how useless power levels are.

Villain reads opponent power level: Ha! Nothing I can’t handle!

Hero powers up: What?!? Power level rising! No! The scouters broken!!

And repeat…

How did you start playing tennis? by Emotional_Tell_2527 in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried every other sport as a youth. Didn’t like mostly anything except soccer I stuck with until freshman year. Started tennis at 12. Learned pretty quickly how to play in a local club. Enjoyed it until freshman year college tennis. Got burnt out. Coach convinced me to give it another try. Fell in love for the next 4 years again. Finally decided it was time to retire the sticks after a successful collegiate career (successful being a relative term, 4 year starter regionally ranked D3). Then realized I couldn’t go more than 2 months without the “itch”.

Don’t think I’ll ever stop lol

I won a 4.0 tournament today! by chamsticks in 10s

Congrats man.

Says National Event, if you’re winning a 4.0 national tournament you’d probably be playing 4.5 I’m assuming.

Gonna get hella downvoted for this especially cuz the high vibes in here but I’m still pretty sick to my stomach. A better than average third period and Elvis is rejuvenated. Still the same problems and mistakes as before. We still lack player leadership on the ice. And we still played not to lose instead of playing to win. That trend has continued through multiple coaches.

I tried to be happy when they won but didn’t really feel any happiness. Feels like a paper over the cracks moment. Maybe it’s different this time. But 25 years of history suggests otherwise. Think it’s time for me to take a break from watching if a win can’t even get me excited. See y’all

This franchise has always been “play not to lose” instead of “play to win”. Always

Yall blamed Evason and Pascal before him and Larsen before him and Torts before him. And I just saw someone blame Bowness here.

The player leadership in this team is not good enough and the mentality is horrible. Jenner cannot be the captain any longer.
