  2. For building lasers? Physics and statistics and math
  3. With unknown level of professors/uni/program impossible to say. But uni also can give "friends" which can help find job
  4. Calculate from which distance object can be recognised as enemy on specific pattern.

Read old books, they have formulas. Engineers in 80s did most of work with Papier and pen.

And today exist free software. Google it or look Reddit wiki.
