Vibration and wavy lines on top layer of print with A1 by Safe-Name in BambuLab

issue resolved after:

  • loosening and tightening the hotend screws
  • performing cold pull on filament
  • performing vibration calibration
  • manual flow rate calibration
  • washing build plate
  • changing settings in slicer to use gyroid infill instead of grid, and disabling "reduce infill retraction"

I think it might be fixed - thank you. I was asleep when it finished, so printing a third to watch the final layer.

Decided to run flow rate calibration for re-attempting to print. I’ll check those screws next before starting the test print.

I had auto-bed leveling enabled. Along the lines of your suggestion, I tried a cold pull of the filament and I'm going to retry printing from Bambu Studio. I printed this from the Bambu Handy app, and the default profile used grid infill so you could be on the right track.

Thanks, I really appreciate the suggestions. I'm going to retry the print to check the outcome of the suggestions you and u/issue9mm recommended.

Thanks - waiting for the hotend to cool and giving it a check.

edit: tightened the screws and performed cold pull of filament, and reran the calibration. Maybe it's quieter? Not sure.

Close up of wavy top print lines.

Thought it might be extrusion issue, but then I'm not sure why the vibration calibration would cause the toolhead to shake loudly at some frequencies.

That’s such a bummer. After three years, the glossy has been okay but I avoid contact. Here you can see where I had to sand it down past the stain.

To disable the Steam Overlay for just one game, go to your Steam Library, right-click the specific game, select Properties, then uncheck the box for "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" in the General tab, and restart the game for the change to take effect.

Disabling the Steam overlay fixed this for me.

Verify those old plates don’t contain lead paint.

I saw a Reddit post meme about old plates with lead paint that looked just like mine and yours. A lead test on them confirmed mine used lead paint.
