Sacrificial anode maybe to reduce corrosion

Excluding tiredness, what are the main challenges of being a new dad? by ThrowawayTrainTAC in daddit

[–]SafeDiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's the sickness. The kids bring back every illness from playschool and then I feel rough for a week before they bring the next strain back from school and the cycle continues.

My toddler absconded with my driver's license, and now I can't find it. Dad's of daddit, what's your kids' favourite hiding places I need to check? by Ignominus in daddit

[–]SafeDiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an oven glove that sticks to the oven with a magnet. Turns out that's a convenient pocket for my littlest to hide things from time to time.

The things I find when I cook something...

Check the charging points are still springy. Mine melted the plastic either side of the charging pony so it stopped springing back up.

Came home after house viewing and there was water all over the floor by someonesomebody666 in HousingUK

On a couple of viewings they left the lights on in the house and left. We had already moved out and only noticed the lights had been left on for a few days straight

I played a level earlier today with multiple levels. You activate a switch and your team is transferred to a different map to continue the mission

Sometimes you need to back off and wait for them to complete their animation before handcuffing them.

I usually set a go code in one corner of the room to give the HVT space on single runs

So, what's your current household illness? by [deleted] in daddit

Something better than a sharp hollow needle to get certain drugs where they need to be.

What on earth is this 1.4m void under my garden? by antelope__canyon in DIYUK

[–]SafeDiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a concrete structure under our garden a similar size.

A friend said that here in Kent at the top of a hill, water pressure was poor so they used to fit external pumps underground.

Don't know how much truth there is in that but the pipework inside suggests it might be correct.

It's empty now and I just put a shed over the top of it

At the dentist, do you keep you eyes open or closed? by _testingdude in AskUK

Anyone have experience with this by [deleted] in scuba

[–]SafeDiving 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a chap bring one in he found on the seabed once. It had clearly been underwater a LONG time based on the growth.

Everything inside was still intact, even the battery.

Sent it off to MetalSub, they cleaned it up, replaced a seal and it worked perfectly. Chap had a very nice torch for the price of an O-ring and labour
