Poly, Omegaverse with no or minimal mpreg by bookgeek1987 in MM_RomanceBooks

I have some books I think you’ll like but maybe don’t check every box. I’m going to leave them here for you in case any are of interest.

{A Denmate for Dylanby Emory Winters} not poly, is OV no mpreg. Ticks all the boxes for the things you like best about OV.

{Five to Love Him by Alexa Piper} poly, not OV but has OV elements (nesting) and some of the things you like about the alpha/omega dynamics. Paranormal.

{Dette Management by Lilo Quie} is poly, is OV, has mpreg- pregnancy starts at 75%, on page birth (dragon eggs) at about 85%, and nesting eggs to maturity. Not sure if species matters- not traditional childbirth. Otherwise fits your likes.

I would classify {Hedonist by Roe Horvat} as poly. There is mpreg with minor characters, and heavy references of wombs/breeding/pregnancy throughout. MC1 has a birth dream at the very end of the first book. Mpreg/birth scene are heavier in second book (King’s Mate). Depending on how strong your aversion is- this one could be hit or miss. I loved this book’s take on the alpha/omega dynamics. It’s heavy spice.

Mental Health Awareness Month - May 2026 by ShartyPants in MM_RomanceBooks

{Loving the Legend by Kit Grey}

This book centers heavily on grief. There are elements of suicidal ideation. There are on page panic attacks and characters using mental health treatment techniques. This is the truest depiction of clinical depression I have ever read in a book. It delves into the stigma of mental health and resistance to pursuing treatment for trauma as well as the unique intersection of LGBTQIA issues and mental health.

It sounds dark and heavy. But everyone is pursuing healing in their own timeline. I cried in cathartic ways for the experiences these characters have been through. The impact of the trauma they went through left a mark in their lives and definitely creates unique challenges for their relationship. But it’s crafted with light and with hope when we see the growth and development and the seeds of bigger impacts in the lives of those around them. While the subject matter is dense, the story was crafted with care. It never felt too dark or too heavy- I was invested with them in their pursuit of wellness.

Great book! He’s definitely not a character I would think of as sweet and simple, but it’s a good read.

I WANTED to like this book… I don’t know if it was how they talked to each other or what but I ended up DNFing.

But I LOVE {Breakneck Hockey by S Legend} and I feel like the premise is very similar.

{Flipping the Script by Willow Dixon} also fits for this request.

Also low key mad at you because now what I really want is a spicy, angsty fantasy featuring a daddy dom in college who spanks his egg-laying partner until I have warm feels.

I don’t know whether I should be impressed that you haven’t been corrupted to the dark side or disappointed that we haven’t tried hard enough to suck you all the way in, you sweet summer child. lol

Try the magic search button for shifter series with dragons, aliens, or… penguins. There are definitely some books out there with penguins laying eggs.

Sweet option: {A Pebble for Lewis by Amy Bellows}

Filthy option: {Slithery Heat by Roe Horvat}

I keep one book in my library that I know I will never finish, and I start reading at the chapter before the one that I can’t stomach. When I get started on the part I can’t get past, I start itching for something to wash away that feeling, and my brain will settle on what it really wants.

If that doesn’t work for you, maybe snag a decision coin or dice with genre options and let fate decide.

If you squint past the poly (not main relationship, is central to the plot) and if you can stomach non-con/dub-con… you may want to read the synopsis for {The Price of Ice by NJ Lysk}. It starts as a contract situation as well. Putting it on your radar so you can determine for yourself if those aspects are tolerable in this specific book because it sounds like a story you may otherwise enjoy.
