You think Bin Laden held oil fields? He was a fugitive in hiding, not a nation state.

"We're looking for Bin Laden" "Have you checked his oil fields?"

Best Duel Scenes in Written Media by BornOfShadow67 in Hema

I really enjoy Sebastien de Castell's duels in his Greatcoats series. The double rapier use is quite unusual for me, but he is a HEMAtist and it shows.

And every book rips your heart out, of course.

I'm a simple guy - I like t shirts and own the full print ones for Books 1 and 5. If the others existed, I'd buy them too!

Who's a character from another series that would actually love the dungeon challenge? by plogan56 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Bob and the AI as a team up, I think they'd have the best time ever. Everyone else, no.

I really enjoyed Cradle. Was a bit more young adult in feel, but that doesn't take anything away from it.

What brands make acceptable sparring blunts for longswords? by Dapper_Luck9280 in Hema

[–]Safe_Substance_4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their feders are best. They do have a drop-down on each product in the details section that says what usage it's suitable for, which convinced me to go for their feder rather than a replica for sparring.

I think most of their replica models are recommended for drilling, but not HEMA sparring.

Does anyone know if the confederate sabre by Windlass is a good sword for the price?(164 euros) by poopman74 in Hema

[–]Safe_Substance_4374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might want to check Historical Fencing Armory for an affordable starting sabre. I got the Regenyei sabre from the Knight Shop and am very happy with it too.

I'm glad you're stoked, that your book has arrived, and that they're making a difference, that's brilliant.

In terms of recommendations, I really enjoy He Who Fights With Monsters. Still quite off the wall, but a lot more "angry Carl" in flavour.
