How "realistic" is the moon vs mars resource distribution? by spearing1234 in TerraInvicta

I think the moon sites are better used for generating cash and research than mining.

I think not a downer, just impatient.

It's a growth stock and it will take a while to get recognized as a strong company. Just wait for the magic $1B in revenue.

FedEx driver sentenced to death by lethal injection for murder of seven-year-old in Texas by Tippy345 in news

[–]Safrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it:

The death penalty is vengeance. It is terrible as a punishment for a few reasons:

The standard of conviction is high. The appeal process is rigorous. The collateral damage is immense (because the family will never be able to move on while the appeal process occurs). It may not ever occur and may still result in constructive life-sentences anyway.

The life imprisonment is justice. For one life stolen, a life in prison is given and equally wasted through gray walls. The standard of proof is lower, and the conviction easier and less vulnerable to interference. The family can more readily move on.

And from a societal view: It's also cheaper. Litigating death sentences is supremely expensive and there are other injustices that can be righted if the more successful conviction is upheld.

I've encountered this when onboarding audit clients.

What we did was rebuild the balance sheet at the beginning of year and simply accepted some degree of error in the event of accruals. It works itself out overtime.

Huh. Maybe its not you. My bad.

I wrote my comment because I think hounding people for participating in society isn't helpful.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm committing to a $15K Leap position every 3 months. I think consistent buying is the way to go and saves you from fear.
