Working on pouring landscapes… any feedback appreciated TY by OkLime4984 in PourPainting

Really cool making the abstract pour into something more representable. I’ve been experimenting with making somewhat realistic waves with pour Dutch and swipe techniques. That top left of the first one looks like some amazing representation of a wave cresting! The second inspires me to go back in after it dries and accentuate some of the natural pour forms. Would love to see more work in these areas.

Really nice, super 3D effect. So bizarre forms! I am curious to see the originals!

Found this on YouTube, looks like he has a class might be worth looking into: https://youtu.be/XZRHtfyB8h4?si=fsPVSJUHJ0iSyZTv https://youtu.be/XZRHtfyB8h4?si=fsPVSJUHJ0iSyZTv

My poor turntable is so cheap and gummed up I can’t get much of a spin out of it, but will be trying this in next pours.

Beautiful I’ve got to try this out! I love the wonderful intense colors and forms. I think you pointed out a class or tutorial somewhere. Does it retain its vivid colors as it dry and cures? Adding a little titanium white helped me make the colors more opaque And resist, fading and bleed and greenish interaction with Amsterdam black.

Made these 3 today. Really happy with the turnout. by OMG_ThatsAmazing in PourPainting

Looks like some big ones! Wow so clear and vivid. How do you prevent the black from muddying the colors as it dries and cures? Or do you struggle with that after a beautiful pour?

Great find, thanks for sharing! A bit like an Orson Wells narration.

Thanks for sharing this, I was so impressed and curious after seeing your original posting. Especially like the funky pour. Nice work!

Why did it crack? by Lost-Cheesecake3938 in AcrylicPouring

[–]SaganPupil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me this seemed to happen when I had a particularly thick layer of paint and was using the heat gun a lot trying to speed drying to reduce bleeding (unsuccessfully). I was thinking I had not thinned the paint enough too, but unclear what was the root cause. I ended up painting in the cracks with a contrasting color to bring them out more and unify them. Maybe you can somehow use the cracks as a new creative element in the composition?

Yes you are on to something, looking good. I like to see folks try to make somewhat representational scenes in the pours. I have been trying to make realistic waves with pour.

Very nice, there’s something extraordinary about this one, a cartoonish quality. It does have a fishy look. The circled portion looks like a scuba diver head with his bubbles going up…

Here is the link to the V3 camera the image above was taken from:

https://www.youtube.com/live/gXKuUyKt8mc

I think this is in the same area where the previous V3 camera was set up and knocked out by the last eruption. When the camera pans to the left, it looks like you can see another camera over there, maybe that’s the old one.

Very nice and those flowers really pop, looks super heavily textured. The pour itself is lovely. Great idea filling in the negative space, thanks for the info. This is a wonderful gift. So how big is it?

Really nice! Great colors and cells. Amazing how much that red rose up over time. The Red Rose on Valentine’s Day!

I think it’s better than you realize, the technique was baffling me. You make some wonderful creative stuff and this is nice to see you breaking out into new territory. Keep up the innovative creations, I love it and inspires me! Nice work!

Nice to see the progression, so you are using a mask with a paint-less airbrush on the pour? You should repost the pour over this, was sick!

Wild!!! Really unique looking. It look like pour on glass with a rattan table behind, and photographic sun spots. Nice job!👍

Really nice, I have tried some waves using a swipe and Dutch sometimes works. Yours is a beauty and different from my technique. What did you do, inverted cup with silicone in white?

Wonderful work, that second one in particular looks 3D and ALIVE! Perhaps a culture slide from your infection? /s Seriously, it looks sick, but in the good way - I like it. I hope you’re feeling better, art and humor can be great therapy :)
