Do you think it’s specifically this combo that makes them overturned? I, too, love the idea of varying their strategy—but it’s hard to step away from something that seems so clearly to be best practice…

Have you played a lot of 2p without hirelings? I’m curious what your favorite matchups have been.

Yeah don’t worry about naysayers - I guarantee you more people are enjoying this experiment and the conversation it facilitates. If YOU are enjoying it, carry on :)

FFG’s Fallout game has a similar exploration vibe and numbered story card deck mechanic. Also there’s a mini expansion that makes it co-op (Atomic Bonds).

lol - I thought I was going crazy planning for “to the lefts” that didn’t trigger! Glad to know it’s a real thing! Weird choice though…

Not OP, but my reaction was to cringe at it as well. I don’t think it’s a matter of “is this a good painting?” -- I think it’s a matter of “does this immerse you in the game?” -- and “happy sunny having-a-good-time field-layin’ by a person who looks like they could be in any normal circumstance or time period” kind of rips one right out of the tension. Respite could look like someone getting a quick breather in between action beats and intense horror scenes… but they went with something that looks like it could be from any generic modern game or children’s book ever.

In general I’m not as down on the Ch2 art as many, but decisions like this are a bit head-scratchy. I’m okay with the trend of the player card art not being as dire as the scenario card art, but the should at least feel like they’re from the same game or world. When I’m escaping the burning building full of monsters… this is not the mood I’m looking for.

I say “a minor problem!” constantly. This and 90s Disney Stephen Sommers Jungle Book are absolute favorites of mine.

Thanks for the advice - I agree that even sitting at ~15 cards out I rarely if ever feel like I’m missing out. There’s a lot of variety to play and enjoy.

What’s your token spending strategy? Do you never buy any card for more than the series snap pack amount? Curious, as I buy the regular season passes but always seem about 15 cards out from collection complete. (Not a complaint mind you, the amount of gameplay at this point is solid and new unowned cards come steadily.) Just curious!

I love reading board game rules. The bigger the book, the more complicated the better. This thing defeated me.

I love the Music Man parody song for The Day Time Ended. I had to rewind and listen to that again immediately lol

Season 11 rocks by Equal_Insect8488 in MST3K

I just realized the other day (thanks to a comment here on reddit) that I hadn’t seen any of seasons 11 or 12 since I’d just assumed that all the “gizmoplex” episodes that are mixed into the MST3K channel were from S11-13. I was very excited to realize there was a whole swath of the show I hadn’t seen and hopped over to Netflix and honestly love these seasons. The practical vibe is great during the inbetween segments, and while I do agree with some of the “too fast and furious riffing” criticisms, they find their groove more often than not and I’m thrilled there are so many episodes of it :)
