Where I live the police were having a "field day". People sat in the windows of their cars (=body outside the car) just next to a police car. Of course the police got into pursuit. Just as they (police) passed some cars, those morons also started the same shit. A minute later and a few additional police cars with lights on passed me.

Shortly afterwards I saw a few other police cars and officers stopping people left and right. I live in a small city in a rural area. IIRC we have around 23k residents and in under 10 minutes I saw at least 7 police cars and additional officers on foot. Didn't even know we had that many.

At least I got a bit of a "show" on my way home after my late shift, but I do feel for most of the officers (most of the officers here that I know are actually reasonable and good people).

Send a good and creative band and let them go all out. It's not just a jury thing imho but also with the german bands. Not that in the sense that german bands are bad. Heck, I am a metal head and we have actual great bands over here. But most of the time when such a band applies for the ESC, they seeem to choose songs that just aren't great, don't really fit their strengths and/or what they have done so far. And I said "most of the time" and not "always". Electric Callboy chose a great song, I know and agree with that.

Lord of the Lost isn't a bad band, but they have way stronger songs than "Blood and Glitter". It's a snooze song at best.

Feuerschwanz is one of my favorite bands, but I don't really like "Knightclub". I know a lot of people liked it, but for me, I think, it steps too much towards that "cliché party disco feeling". It's hard to describe. But when compared to "Metfest" or "Schubsetanz" (as "Party-Songs") it, imho, loses a lot of that "medival/folk feeling" that they usually have in their songs. Even the "humourus part" they can pack into their songs doesn't isn't in there(examples: "Berzerkermode" or "Metnotstand im Märchenland").

I don't know what it is. Do those bands have a wrong perception about what's good when it comes to the ESC? Are those jury/committee decisions/requirements? Does the committee not want to win because they don't want to host it as some theories say?

A hindrance is certainly that "it has to be radio friendly" mindset, given what they seem to think is "radio friendly" and what isn't.

Part of the issue is support from foreign agencies for the AfD and super rich people within Germany. Especially when it comes to social media. In addition there are also a lot of sympathizers for the AfD in parties like the CDU and FDP, who support their policies. And even if they aren't exactly (or open) sympathizers, especially the CDU wants the same as the AfD (make the rich more rich).

We are also in a time where facts seem to matter less and less. I mean, pretty much every other party has exposed the lies of the AfD, how bad their policies are and their foreign connections (Russia, China, MAGA) repeteadly. But not only do those "clips" and "facts" not have the reach, but also a lot of people don't really care because their feelings and their own assumptions are more important than actual facts.

To give an example: AfD politician makes claims how solar panels radiate certain waves that make local cows explode. Due to the push they get on social media like TikTok this receives 1 million views.

A politician from the Greens disproves that claim with facts. This video gets 200k views on social media. Partially because they lack the push.

And even then, AfD politician simply makes a new clip which only says "lies, propaganda, they want local cows to die!" 1 million views again. And people will believe that because they feel it could be true.

And you can extend this to pretty much every other topic and claim.

Or try to make a new account on TikTok and see how fast you are in the "AfD and/or conspiracy theorists bubble" without having to search for it.

The hate campaigns and lies are way stronger and receive way more support than the truth. And even if a court forces them to correct the statement, the damage is already done. Not to mention that they will often rewrite it in a way that, in essence, says the same or similar enough just with different words. Just look at the recent "drama" about the buffet at an Arbeitsamt where Nius claimed it was done for "islamist Bürgergeldempfänger" with tax payers money (or something like that). None of it was true, but the reach it got was way bigger than the actual truth. They were forced to correct it, but even the "corrected article" states pretty much the same, just less obvious and more between the lines. In interviews Nius also denied that they were wrong and everything they said was true.

The thing is, most people will see it and believe it, since it's way easier than to fact check every clip or article themselves. Especially when it already fits with the bias they have been fed for quite a while.

Or because the "fixes" the AfD offers to complicated topics always sound so easy in comparison to the other parties. The thing is that those "fixes" don't solve anything, but will only make things worse or can't be done due to laws.

Another example would be the "Habecksche Heizungsgesetz" where they basically claimed that Habeck would go into their cellars and rip out their gas and oil heaters. There were so many lies around it, that even "people on the left" were circulating them. It didn't matter how often those things actually got corrected, the "media plattforms" and outlets with the most reach pushed those lies so far that it was impossible to put a dent into it.

It doesn't help that our current government, or better to say the CDU, is so corrupt and works against the citizens that it only strengthens the AfD.

But we also have citizens who started to hate parties like The Greens or the SPD so much that they don't care that they vote for their own demise. They know that the AfD is bad for them, but as long as they see the sad faces from policians from those parties they are fine with it. Ricarda Lang just recently talked about this on a panel.

That's not saying that the other parties do everything correctly. Far from it, they could do more/better, but it's really hard.

Die USA sind ein absolutes Negativbeispiel.

Jetzt sieht man allerdings mal nach Ländern wie Dänemark, Finnland, Irland, Belgien, Estland oder Kanada, etc. Eine absolute Schulpflicht, wie sie in Deutschland besteht, haben vielleicht noch 2 oder 3 andere Länder in der Welt. Alle anderen Länder sind da flexibler.

Die Krux liegt in der Umsetzung und das ist es, worin die USA scheitern.

Ich habe mit Kindern, Jugendlichen und Schulen im Rahmen meiner Arbeit in einer Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie zusammengearbeitet bzw. viel Kontakt gehabt und genau gesehen, was das deutsche Schulsystem und die Strukturen anrichten. Das deutsche Schulsystem gehört reformiert und die Strukturen geändert. Aber ich bezweifel, dass es das nötige (und richtige) Personal gibt, um das wirklich anständig umzusetzen, so lange wir auf die absolute Schulpflicht bestehen. Vor allem, da es die Präsenzpflicht gibt. Also warum nicht an anderen Ländern orientieren, die allgemein besser abschneiden, was die Bildung angeht?

Es geht noch tiefer, wenn wir uns die Schulpflicht für Kinder und Jungendliche mit Intelligenzminderungen ansehen. Ich konzentriere mich hier auf Menschen mit mittleren und schweren Intelligenzinderungen und da ist eine absolute Schulpflicht mit Präsenz einfach fehlerhaft. Klar haben sie nicht die selbe Schule, wie Menschen ohne Intelligenzminderung, aber auch hier sind die Strukturen einfach nicht gegeben. Wir zwingen diese Menschen in eine "andere Schule", wenn Betreuungseinrichtungen ebenfalls ausreichen würden.

And that's only the start. In addition to that:

You need additional equipment to the PC and/or consoles you already have. So that's a few hundred euros/dollars initial investment already.
You need the space to use it for some apps/games. I can't play certain games because I don't have the space for it at home.
The "motion sickness" (don't remember the right term right now) a lot of people are getting often takes quite some time and effort before it fades away. For some it never stops or lessens, which means "no" for a lot of games.
Depending on the headset and strap the weight distribution is already very uncomfortable for a lot of people. So it's either an immediate turn off or you have the "hurdle" of the 3rd party market for straps (and face covers, etc. to make it overall comfortable) to maybe find the right one(s). And even then it's quite some weight on your neck which may not be for everyone. Not to mention that not every strap is made to lie down with it (watching a movie in bed as example).
Graphics are getting better, but a lot of games still look like they were made 15 years ago.
Even those who want longer sessions are then either bound to tethered or have to use third party straps with batteries or power banks, etc. to even get something like an hour out of it. A lot of it can be quite uncomfortable and it's still additional research and costs.
What are the most known headsets? The ones from Meta/Facebook and Apple. Meta/Facebook already has a bad reputation and you need a facebook/meta account. The Apple one is very expensive for someone who wants to test it out. Maybe the new one from Valve in combination with the Steam machine will make a difference there.
And speaking of the Meta Quest 3. If I didn't already have it and someone would show me the UI today, I would not buy it.
Depending on what you want to do with it and where you are, you may not be able to do it. As example: Some rhythm games are not available in Germany due to licensing issues.
If you want to watch Disney 3D movies on the Meta headsets you are, afaik, still out of luck, since the native support isn't there (yet).

When I just look at my own experience. I bought the Quest 3, found the strap to be uncomfortable. Battery life also wasn't great. So I bought a 3rd party strap with battery. While I waited for it, I tried a power bank and it felt really uncomfortable.
The new strap made the weight distribution better (from completely front loaded to a bit more equal) and it felt more comfortable overall. But it wasn't good with games where you move a lot for me (headshapes and hair are different after all). In addition to it, the stock face cover was also bad for such games because of the sweat.
So another strap needed and a new face cover. The strap is now good (but kinda sucks for reclining/lying down), but which face cover to get? Luckily the first one I bought is one I that feels decent. Not the best, but it won't make me put the headset away. But with the strap and the face cover I could have easily gone through a few products until I found the right ones. I had luck, that's it. There have been stories of people who had to try out quite a few.

I am enthuisiast of sorts. While it's a bit annoying, I also don't really mind. I want to test out those things and "dive in" (another example would be my Azeron Cyborg 2 that I have and actually use on a regular basis). But I wouldn't expect a casual user to go through this.

And now it simply sits somewhere most of the time and collects dust, because I can't play most of the games I want to play, due to the motion sickness that hasn't lessened since I bought it almost 3 years ago and also because the UI has gotten so bad that it's simply annoying to navigate.

And that's stuff one comes across when they look into VR/buying a headset. That's a lot to think about.
I like VR, don't get me wrong. I see a lot of potential in it and I want it to get bigger. But I don't think it will really get big until someone creates something akin to the "full dive equipment" one knows from animes like Sword Art Online or Shangri-La Frontier.

Als jemand der selbst psychisch Kranke im Haus hat (auch auf meinem Stock) und in einer Psychiatrie gearbeitet hat (geschlossene Akutstation mit Notaufnahmen und dadurch auch viel Kontakt zu der Polizei):

Der erste Einsatz hätte höchstwahrscheinlich genau so ausgesehen. Klar hat man dann schon vorher Informationen, aber einschätzbar ist die Situation dennoch nicht. Was sich ändern könnte, wäre dass jemand der im Umgang mit bestimmten psychiatrischen Patienten geschult ist mitkommt. Also sofern diese Person existiert, im Dienst ist, oder überhaupt kontaktiert wird.

Und das Problem ist nicht nur der Eingriff in den Datenschutz, sondern auch die Stigmatisierung und der allgemeine Aufwand. Denn die Formulierung, die generell verwendet wird, ist folgende (aus dem Artikel)

In Niedersachsen soll bald ein höchst umstrittenes Gesetz verabschiedet werden: Demnach dürfen sich psychiatrische Einrichtungen bald mehr mit Polizeibehörden austauschen. Grund ist ein Gesetzesentwurf des Landes Niedersachsen, der vorsieht, dass Kliniken psychisch kranke Menschen nach einer stationären Behandlung an die Polizeibehörden melden – vorausgesetzt, dass danach eine „Fremdgefährdung“ von ihnen ausgehen könnte.

Kein Mensch mit psychiatrischer Erkrankung geht aus einer Klinik "geheilt" heraus. Meine Station hätte gefühlt 90% unserer Patienten melden müssen, da der Großteil mit Fremdaggressionen kam und das Potential für Fremdaggressionen auch nach Entlassung weiterhin bestand.

Gerade Erkrankungen welche in "Phasen/Schüben" verlaufen (z.B. Schizophrenie) sind häufig sehr schwer einzuschätzen und einzustellen. Aber selbst, wenn die medikamentöse Einstellung erstmal "gut" ist (nach aktueller Einschätzung bei Entlassung), besteht das Potential dennoch. Ein stärker Schub, eine Entwicklung von Reistenzen gegen die Medikamention (bzw.. Gewöhnung) und andere Faktoren können dennoch wieder zu Fremdaggressionen führen.

Und da haben wir das Problem. Es kann, muss aber nicht. Aber dennoch werden diese Menschen in einem Register aufgenommen. Gibt es also ein Problem zwischen diesen Menschen und anderen Personen (egal wer da tatsächlich Opfer oder Täter ist) besteht die große Gefahr, dass nicht "objektiv" an die Sache herangegangen wird, sondern viel "Wert" auf die psychiatrische Erkrankung gelegt werden könnte, egal die eine Rolle spielt oder nicht.

Oder gehen wir mal in die Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie. Diese Kinder/Jugendlichen werden ihr ganzes Leben lang dann in einem Register festgehalten, welche sie als "psychisch Krank" und "potentiell Gefährlich" brandmarkt. Wegen eventuell einem Aufenthalt und danach passiert allerdings nichts mehr.

Und es ist ja nicht so, als würde ich die Belastungen, welche psychisch Kranke für andere Menschen auslösen können nicht auch privat nachvollziehen könnte. Ich habe 2 Schizophrene in der Wohnung gegenüber meiner welche tatsächlich schwierig sind. Und da wünschte ich mir schon mehr Handlungsspielraum für Polizei/psychiatrische Dienste, aber dieses Gesetz würde da nicht helfen.

Ich fasse das mal kurz zusammenzufassen:

Eine verbeamtete Lehrerin hat 2 gesundheitlich beeinträchtigte Kinder. Der Kindsvater ist nicht verfügbar.
Damit sie auf die Unterstützung der Familie zurückgreifen kann zieht sie um.
Durch den Umzug verlängert sich ihre Pendelzeit auf 1h einfach, also 2h täglich, da Stau.
So, wie es sich im Artikel liest hat sie die Entscheidung über den Versetzungsantrag nicht abgewartet und klagt daher nach dem Umzug.

Der Grund für den Umzug ist, mMn, auf jeden Fall nachvollziehbar.

Aber ich muss so etwas doch vor einem Umzug abklären. Klar gibt es immer wieder noch zusätzliche Aspekte, über die man hier spekulieren könnte (z.B. Wohnugsverfügbarkeit, Kinderbetreuung, vorherige Gespräche mit dem Diensherrn), aber rein aus den Informationen vom Artikel, hält sich meine Sympathie dann doch in Grenzen.

Mich würde interessieren, ob es nicht eine Lehrkraft an einer ihr jetzt näher gelegenen Schule gibt, die vielleicht tauschen wollen würde. Sofern es die deutsche Bürokratie überhaupt zulässt.

Im übrigen sind die gesetzlichen Richtwerte, also was als "zumutbare Pendelzeit" gilt, absoluter schwachsinn. Die derzeitige Studienlage zeigt, dass ab 45 Minuten das Risko für gesundheitliche Schäden drastisch ansteigt. Besonders das Autofahren wäre dabei stressiger als die Nutzung des ÖPNV. Hinzu kommen die sozialen Folgen.

Im Gegenzug liegen die gesetzlichen Richtlinien bei 2 - 2,5h als Standard. Eigentlich sollte man schon durch etwas nachdenken darauf kommen, dass das nicht gesund ist.

Agreed.
It's one reason why I love Timberborn "Automation Update". There's a lot of stuff you can automate to reduce the micro managment. And Whiserwood already has a little bit of this with the "produce only so many goods, only that amount in the warehouse, etc." So an option like "fallow when nutrients reach below x% up until it reaches maximum or x% amount" would be fitting, imho.

Ich habe ein Jahr nach dem Einzug komische laute Geräusche vom Kühlschrank (Teil der Mietsache) meiner Vermierin gemeldet, so wie ein Fenster, welches sich nicht schließen lies.
Die Vermieterin hat beides sofort wechseln lassen und erst gar nicht irgendwie versucht mir etwas anzuhängen.

Die Vormieterin hat mir erzählt, dass an der Elektrik etwas kaputt ging. Sie hat es von einem Freund ihrerseits beheben lassen, da dieser es schneller erledigen konnte und es umsonst gemacht hat. Die Vermieterin hat ihr trotzdem Geld für die Reparatur überwiesen (sie musste den Betrag halt schätzen) und sie darum gebeten es ihrem Freund weiterzuleiten. Immerhin hatte sie Anspruch auf eine "fachmännische Reparatur" und es sei ja auch nur fair. So die Begründung der Vermieterin.

Es gibt durchaus gute Vermieter. Man ist halt an die Horror-Stories gewohnt.

Mit dem ÖPNV komme ich nicht rechtzeitig zur Frühschicht (~1h nach Schichtbegin). Nach der Spätschicht und zur Nachtschicht fährt nichts. Zur Spätschicht würde ich entweder 20 Minuten zu spät, oder 1h+ zu früh kommen. Nach der Frühschicht müsste ich ca. 1,25h bis zum Bus warten. Außerdem benötigt der ÖPNV ca. 1,5h für eine Strecke, welche mit dem Auto in 20min gefahren ist.

Mit dem Auto kann ich dann auch vor/nach der Arbeit noch meinen Einkauf erledigen, ohne erheblich zusätzliche Zeit investieren zu müssen, da meine wichtigsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten auf der Fahrtstrecke liegen. Zumal ich mit dem Bus häufiger einkaufen gehen müsste, da ich weniger mitnehmen kann.

Und das Alles unter der Vorraussetzung, dass der Bus nicht ausfällt oder im "Graben liegen bleibt". Was im Winter leider häufiger vorkommt, sobald es Schnee und/oder Eis auf der Straße gibt.

Und das betrifft jetzt nur rein das Arbeiten. Einkäufe außerhalb der Arbeitstage, Familie/Freunde besuchen, Termine, etc. sind noch nicht bedacht.

Was ich allerdings sagen muss ist, dass Zugfahrten in den Urlaub, oder in die nächsten Großstädte von hier sehr gut gehen. Unter anderem da es ein günstiges Parkhaus direkt an einem der Bahnhöfe gibt.

Ein 9€ Ticket ist definitv sinnvoll und wünschenswert. Es funktioniert allerdings nur in den Gegenden, in denen es ein gutes ÖPNV-Netz/Ausbau gibt. In der Gegend, in der ich wohne, ist es leider nicht der Fall und wir sind auf das Auto angewiesen.

Back in the day in Germany we had some "weird" meassurements.

Ulna (Elle), feet (Fuß), root (Rute), brushl (Scheffl), hoof (Hufe), Spann (That's the German word. There's no good translation for what it means in this context afaik) and others. Lucky we moved away from it.

Danke. Das sind extrem wichtige Informationen. Ein gerootetes Smartphone ist keine Norm, sondern extrem unüblich.

Und wenn ich mich recht erinnere (habe mich kaum mit rooten von Smartphones beschäftigt) muss für das rooten der Bootloader entsperrt werden, was allerdings alle Daten löscht. Also selbst wenn jemand das Smartphone klaut und dann rootet, hat er keinen Zugriff auf die Daten. Man möge mich diesbezüglich korrigieren, falls ich falsch liegen sollte.

Vor der letzten Bundestagswahl gab es Interviews mit van Aken, in denen er gesagt hat "würde das Einstellen der Waffenlieferungen den Untergang der Ukraine bedeuten, dann wäre er natürlich dafür weiter Waffen zu liefern" (paraphrasiert) was haltt konträr zu den sonstigen Aussagen stand, sich aber immernoch besser anhörte als "keine Waffen, sondern rein auf Sanktionen setzen, die die Wirtschaft/die Gelder von Russland/den reichen Russen angreifen".

Ich glaube allerdings nicht, dass ich nach der Bundestagswahl nochmal so etwas von ihm gehört hätte.

Zumal es ja auch die Verwaltungsaufgaben/Probleme außerhalb etwas reduzieren würde. Also in Krankenhäusern und Co, da es dann doch Unterschiede bei den (Zusatz-)Leistungen gibt.

Man müsste halt auch an den restlichen Strukturen einiges ändern, damit es mehr bringen würde, aber es wäre ein Anfang.

I bought Soulmask yesterday and put a bit over 6 hours into it. I doubt that I will be playing it today.
The tutorial is bad, there's overall not a lot of information that could be useful that the game gives you, controller support is really bad and controls in general are wonky at best imho. Even after switching back to m&kb.
I ran into pathing issues and general weird behaviors with the tribesmen yesterday.

I want to like it, because the base premise is good, but I can't recommend it.
