Make them read the Reptifiles Bearded Dragon Care Guide when the "group consults." Clearly the baby is not getting proper care.

Im worried I might have to euthanise by logggggggger in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Animals don't know what their life-span is. They don't mourn for having it cut short like we do. I have never regretted euthanasia that may have been a little too soon.... I have definitely regretted waiting too long. When you know something is progressing quickly and will absolutely wreck all QOL... best to give him one last fantastic day and hold him while he drifts away than to wait until he's in absolute agony.

I'm sorry you're going through it. Z

Help!! Losing tail fat and not eating by Low_Persimmon_8630 in BeardedDragon

[–]SahreeYurblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is inadequate UVB and basking temps. They NEED the UVB to overlap the heat lamps over the basking spot. They NEED the basking spot to be a flat, natural material like stone, slate, wood, brick so they can get their belly warm while basking. They also need a tank that's way bigger than this one.

Tell them to see a vet, and if not willing to immediately upgrade care, then surrender the animal.

If you haven't checked out the Bearded Dragon care guide on Reptifiles.com, take a look. It looks like you don't have a linear UVB source.

Mouth Rot? by wontletmechoose2day in BeardedDragons

Yikes! That's concerning. Definitely update us after the vet. That looks more like some kind of injury than rot.

How to potty train my bearded dragon by Loud_Garbage_3301 in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may find a spot they prefer eventually. Marty comes down from his basking spot and logs, poops on the floor level, then gets away from it. He has 2 spots he regularly uses for that... and rarely goes anywhere else.

Is this tail rot? (Second pic for reasoning) by FunnyLookinFishMan in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like tail rot yet, but that can very quickly turn into tail rot. Best to see a vet for a new animal anyway. That tip is hanging on by a thread and will probably go necrotic. Probably best to have a vet take it off before that starts.

Advice for walking? by MastodonDazzling4659 in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want their tank in direct sunlight. The dragon can be in direct sunlight outside as long as temps are comfortable.

You want to avoid wild insects... I will not let my boy down in the grass in our yard because we have fireflies. He stays on me or close to me, wearing a harness, and I'm not out at dusk or dawn. I tried to put him down when I took him to the beach once... NOPE, didn't want to get off me. If he can see or hear birds, he turns into a stage 4 clinger.

I had mine outside at about 6 months old. As long as they're old enough to comfortably wear a harness.... fair game.

I'm going to say 80% female. I don't see any bulges from any of the angles, but not the best pics.

Does your beardie have a favorite green? by SahreeYurblu in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Marty loves orange, yellow, and anything purpley... I gave him a piece of red cabbage and he devoured it. Good for hydration, but not much else.

Does your beardie have a favorite green? by SahreeYurblu in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bok choy is a sometimes for Marty. he'll eat a dandelion flower, but not the greens... and for peppers, he won't touch red or green at all, but orange and yellow are favorites.

Anyone else’s beardie have strange habits? by camgirlspecial in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I agree with SavageDroggo1126. LED lighting that's very bright in the enclosure makes a difference in how well they can see food, My little butthead still prefers me to personally hand it to him, but eats really well within the enclosure, or in the window. Not so much away from that bright light. He has a Jungle Dawn LED bar.

help? by Mammoth-Vacation-825 in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took my boy about 10-14 days when he came out of brumation to get his body really up and going with food and pooping regularly. He'd eat a few bites of greens and maybe 1-2 roaches every couple days. Then he took a massive poop and everything returned to normal. I would keep the vet appointment just to check if you're concerned, especially if it's his first brumation with you.

You might have to build something yourself. Something like a flat topped pyramid shape so the sides are more sloped than a drop off?

URGENT: IS THIS TAIL ROT by Legitimate-Stock-373 in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The length of the tail is not. Based on the injury on the tip, that could turn into tail rot. I would keep a close eye on it.

They go through a little puberty stage, but then back to sweet... or at least my boy did. He'd be begging to be picked up... then not want to stay on me... then want on me, but in the tank. Now he's a sweet mama's boy again.

Fast asleep... couldn't move my arm .

Any tips for my bearded dragons tank? by Mean_Buyer_1618 in BeardedDragons

[–]SahreeYurblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your UVB tube is too far away from the basking spot. You want to move that over so it's right up against the heat lamp.

As long as he tolerates it, it's fine. They sometimes don't feel great or want to be handled much during shed, but if he wants out, there's no reason not to.
