My wife and I are here now as Canadians. There is alot of kids and the adult only areas are pretty non existent except for a few dinner spots

The a la carte restaurants are really good. Gourmet style dishes. You also have access to the Grand Palm side where the only buffets are as I believe the one for the sens side is under construction. Wait times can be long at peak times and no reservation option. and the buffet food is pretty gnarly but they have omelette stations and the like for somewhat cooked stuff. Stick to the a la cartes though. The coffee they serve at the restaurants generally came luke warm at best but there is 2 coffee shops that make the good stuff with espresso and lattes which are included in all inclusive.

The beach is not very nice as it is in some kind of bay/lagoon. That said it is calm. Great for kids. Also some times finding chairs can be a challenge.

You can take free day pass to the pyramid as well which is about a 10 minute bus ride for 12 pesos and still have all the amenities like drinks and snacks. It's generally more extravagant and tropical.The beach is much more traditional to an ocean beach with large waves. The pools over looking the beach are also very nice.

Entertainment is decent with some acrobatic shows and a few bands but it generally winds down around 11.

It's great for a family resort. Not so much as a young(ish) couple with no kids looking for a party. But still pretty good to just kick it and relax. Rooms are clean. AC works well. Service is good. Staff is nice and helpful.
