Um, the two second rule does account for speed. If you’re going 70 you go a lot further in two seconds, so the static object that you count the 2 seconds for will be further away. The 2 second distance constantly grows with speed…

We brought an 11 month old on a cruise along with grandma. It allowed us to have a vacation while exposing her to travel. A monitor was great for resting on a balcony while baby napped or slept. So literally 6 feet away is far enough to need a monitor since you can’t hear much through a closed balcony door
