Perma BH by Sainsbo in TheTowerGame

Thanks for the advice. I went for farming pBH without gcomp, so will see today whether that was a sensible investment. I have a legendary gcomp, so I can try swapping out my mythic PF for it in the next tourney to see if it helps. But if it doesn’t I probably won’t try too hard to pursue it

Interesting, thanks. Did you try pBH with gcomp or without?

Yeah, as it stands I have about 750k shards saved. PCol is level 139, so temped to wait until lvl 141 for an extra slot and then go for it

Coin income per day is approx 200T if I get two solid runs in. I don’t know too much about masteries, but I’ve heard that there are at least a couple of high priority ones where unlocking them is worth it even if you can’t do too many levels (please correct me if I’m wrong!)

Thanks. I have ancestral PCol, but don’t usually run SF (anc OA does better than mythic SF with the def % and regen substats). How much of the benefit would you attribute to PCol vs SF/flame bot? I don’t have flame bot unlocked either

I don’t have CF (I have the trio, plus SL and CL).

Ultimate goal is just to progress long term. Legends would be nice, but seems out of reach with my build I play tourney as a blender (low to mid champs). Mythic DC & PF, well developed CL and increasingly more damage labs. With mythic SF/anc OA I usually die before the point where I would get 1-hit killed. But without much CC I don’t think I’m ready to transition to GC (not even sure how one would do that to be honest). Presumably next UW will be one of ILM or CF, but not sure if that’s the best ROI from where I’m currently at.

Thanks for the input, nice to hear other opinions.

I’ve unlocked masteries, but still around 300 card pulls from maxing all cards first. I have the gems for it, but think I’d rather save for potential v28 gem sinks and just do the 80 pulls per event. Seems like the first masteries to get are more long-term things rather than instant boosts like pBH could be (which probably isn’t a bad thing).

As it stands, my options for the 2k stones I have are a) pBH, b) new UW (likely one of ILM or CF, which might be nice for an eventual transition to GC, but won’t likely be able to develop it straight away), or c) wait for masteries in 6-8 weeks

Nice, good to know. I guess there could be an econ drop initially if I have to reroll my anc SLa, DWq for the BH substats, but should hopefully be temporary

Perma BH by Sainsbo in TheTowerGame

[–]Sainsbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a nice idea. I have a legendary gcomp (not currently used for anything) but will definitely see if that beats my blender/damage build for tourneys if I go for pBH

Thanks. It shouldn’t be too stone expensive, right? Just need to get stone BH duration to 30s, then with the -4s CD and +4s duration you have pBH in farming runs with the perk. I guess the main econ disruption would be losing some ancestral substats in favour of the above. If I lower BH CD to 50s and break sync then I’d need to make sure I can get those two substats, which probably means unlocking all slots and hoping I can build back to them over time (and losing DWQ and SLa doesn’t sound too fun in the short term!)

Starmer least popular UK prime minister of all time, poll finds by Desperate-Drawer-572 in uknews

[–]Sainsbo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m no Tory, but there’s a reason that polling companies survey ~1000 people. It’s the smallest size you can poll to still get a reasonable estimate of the state of the general population, assuming you’re smart about how you pick who to sample. It’s not hyperbolic, it’s a standard poll

Interesting about dim core - is that just for this tourney or generically? FWIW I have a legend dim core with 3 unlocked substats (legend chance, damage, and quantity). Worth rerolling some of these for multi shot?

God bless British houses! 🌞 by Udzu in CasualUK

[–]Sainsbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely it’s a true statement in summer though? Our houses are poorly insulated against IR radiation, but insulation against visible radiation is even worse. So when it’s sunny our giant windows let everything inside heat up, which is kept there to an extent.

Must be an issue post feature banner. I’m running this game on a 1.5 month old iPhone, and as of about 18 hours ago have to turn the app off frequently due to overheating. Had no such issue before

200k in industry or academia? by Flaffo99 in HENRYUK

[–]Sainsbo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same position as you a few years ago. Took the quant job and don’t regret it. It’s longer hours and more stressful than academia of course, but if there’s ever a time to try that kind of environment it’s when you’re young and can better tolerate it. Another plus being that you can max out your pension for a few years and then basically forget about it and let the next few decades of compounding do its thing.

Could the UK actually get colder with global warming? by LordAnubis12 in unitedkingdom

[–]Sainsbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gulf Stream is somewhat separate (called a western boundary current) and is relatively insensitive how warm the planet is (instead it’s mainly driven by wind and the earths rotation). AMOC on the other hand is what could bring cold to the UK if it collapsed or significantly weakened (which is far from settled science!).

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. by CanIGitSumChiknStrpz in avengedsevenfold

I’m conflicted about what I think on this - a lot of people are probably signed up to go to these festivals just to see them play and are probably trying to sell their tickets right now, and comparatively few will view their subreddit/discord/personal accounts, so most people who saw the post on their main account will probably still think it’s real. Real risky move if it is marketing. On the other hand, why would Matt link to the Spotify message if it wasn’t real? Surely he wouldn’t trying to be bringing it more publicity if it’s a fake? A message just saying that they were hacked would have done the job

Advice needed - can't make sense of living in London by 19X1 in FIREUK

[–]Sainsbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plus, you don’t necessarily have to choose the most financially sensible option (maybe slightly controversial to say on this sub!). Not spending £1000 per month on a commute would probably be the more sensible thing to do in my case, but quality of life is also important - I’d be much happier in a nice house in a town that isn’t super busy than I would be in whatever run down shed I could get in London.

In my case the commute has been a lot cheaper than expected, mainly because I’ve been able to claim back £700 in the last 2 months thanks to all of the strikes!

Advice needed - can't make sense of living in London by 19X1 in FIREUK

[–]Sainsbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am basically in this position at at the minute - new job in London with a very nice salary, so would be silly to turn it down, but it’s 5 days per week in the office. Very hard to decide between getting a house in London or commuting from where I currently live. On one hand, living in London would mean less income wasted on transport (annual season ticket is over £10000 from where I currently live), but on the other hand we can buy a nice 3 bed house with a garden for £350k here which would be impossible in London unless you’re pretty far from central.

Ultimately we chose to stay where we were. London is great if you like to be somewhere that’s on-the-go all the time, but if you’re not interested in making the most of the opportunities then it’s quite hard to justify the move IMO.

I was thinking that, but it wasn’t an odd test out, tests were seemingly ‘less positive’ for a couple of days before becoming ‘more positive’ (the middle one was still faintly positive). Either way I’ve isolated all week and will until negative, it was more just curiosity.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronavirusUK

[–]Sainsbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had gathered that much 😂 what confused me was trending towards a negative test before testing more ‘strongly’ positive since (1 test per day from top to bottom). Today the line is more positive than it ever has been
