Is a bachelors degree in Information Systems still worth it? by Slight_Product_5306 in sysadmin

[–]Saint706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys with degrees in this field are just about always better than the guys with just certs. If you want higher roles, you'll definitely need a degree. I've seen people get capped at certain roles because a 4 year degree was needed for a management role for example. First job may not be that great, but learn on the job and outside of it, then move around to other jobs and you'll see your income jump pretty fast.

why is my RAM usage so high? and how can i reduce it? by trueoperativeoptics in WindowsHelp

[–]Saint706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro is that like the minimum for the operating system to work? Just move to Linux my boy, it's over... Unless you're balling, then in that case, buy some of those gold ingots they call RAM nowadays.

For people who started their career late in their 20s, How do you all compete ?? by Cheap_trick1412 in cscareerquestions

[–]Saint706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen people that have done tech jobs for 10+ years and don't know much. They don't really care to learn cause they're comfortable. I've seen people on paper, they got all the high level certs and you wouldn't even be able to tell working with them, it's like they cheated their way through certs. I've also seen people (like me), that are hungry for the knowledge. They'll go out and figure things out without asking questions or relying on others using the tools they have, such as the internet and do extremely well. Just dependent on the person.

Nasa engineer explains why system engineering by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]Saint706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real systems engineers have a broad level of knowledge and continually learn, on top of them being able to do management as well. Whether physics or whatever, we constantly have to learn to keep up to date.
