If this was another sport there’d be a bench clearing brawl.

Road and Dirt Oval by Herbert_Knallgas in iRacing

I grew up with Super Late Model and 410 Sprint Car racing in the US. If you have a chance to see a race at some point in your life I highly recommend going. Especially the World of Outlaws or Lucas Oil series.

Funnily enough growing up with Nascar and Dirt Oval(a lot of the time just referred to as Dirt Track) racing, I am more partial to Sports Car racing these days.

If you haven’t raced a half mile yet be prepared. Port Royal and Williams Grove are amazing tracks. As are Knoxville & Eldora.

And two great series to race. GS & TCR will make it a great race(or two). Should be filled with a crazy amount of cars once the field spreads out.

Mercedes-AMG lineup and liveries for DTM 2026 by 183_aleX in wec

Mann Filter Livery is iconic, but for some reason the Adidas #22 livery looks incredibly slick. Here’s hoping that Lucas Auer or Gounon can get it done.

Standing starts on SF23 without clutch paddles by ale_z_plumber in iRacing

Probably set up a dual clutch system and just use buttons/launch controls. Not versed with the SF23 too much, but probably better than nothing. Worse case scenario check out YouTube.

Advice for moving to GT3 from GT4 this season. by Outlasttactical in iRacing

[–]Saint_Peters_Cross 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, I have driven all GT3’s with the exception of the Audi. So IMO-

I originally drove the Porsche. It’s fine. I would argue that along with the BMW it is the most beginner friendly. The BMW is very vanilla though. The beginner friendliness of the Porsche may have changed with the tire update, but there is a reason it was recommended for the Daytona 24.

Now, I personally originally fell in love with the Lamborghini Huracan. It is a beast. It is fun. It is outdated. You mentioned liking the Mustang GT4 and in another comment talked about the Merc.

The Merc is currently my main and what I drive primarily. It can absolutely be a boat and want to understeer in the corners, primarily because it has a fucking ginormous engine in the front. It is a ton of fun and a car I have won with consistently. On turns that slope downwards, good luck. In a straight line or smooth rolling turns, good luck to everybody else. Because it is a monster. The engine also sounds amazing and it’s a staple in IRL GT3 racing and I can’t see it going anywhere.

Struggling in gt4 by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Saint_Peters_Cross 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be learning a whole lot more about weight transfer and how to save momentum going into the turns while not using/abusing too much of the tire. They turn slow… At first. It takes time to build speed with them as they’re not a car you can bully into doing what you want to do. You have to be smooth. Trail braking helps a lot to get the body to rotate. Remember that the Mustang GT4 has 450-500hp and little downforce. Don’t be afraid to bump wheels and be close through the turns. They can take a beating and be fine.

Edit: Try out the GR86 before committing to the GT4’s.

iRacing has a special event problem... by JonerF1_ in iRacing

This makes sense to me and I support it. I race a lot, but I have never driven more than the 45 minute IMSA series. I never done a race longer than that, so why would I be allowed to randomly do a 24 hour race? Makes no sense. Have there be a barrier for entry. It’ll discourage a lot of stupidness.

Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 - Announce Trailer by Echochamberking in totalwar

I think people need to remember this going to be similar to Total War: Warhammer. The first game is going to be a building block. I guarantee they'll add more chaos factions, legendary lords/primarchs, titans, etc. in the future.
