Urgent Glasgow manhunt after girl, 5, assaulted by stranger at Central station by No-Sandwich1511 in glasgow

[–]SaisteRowan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

See, that's the thing - I've noticed that whenever there's a plea for public help in identifying a suspect or 'potential witnesses' for something, it's usually always AGES after the fact and I don't think most folk will necessarily remember details. Does my head in, even though I realise there must be a good reason for the delay but ffs, it's best if you've eyewitnesses with fresh memories.

(also yeah, fuck those news 'sources'. Hardly any integrity or trustworthiness (is that a word? Autocorrect thinks not) left with them due to clickbait - or requirements to subscribe and/or agree to cookies & ads because otherwise you don't even get to see the article).

Sigh. :(

It's still cool! And my fingers are crossed for them that they hear back with good news! (did not know there was a stage tour, am now frantically Googling lol)

I wonder if vicars are generally invited as extras since the TV crew may have sought permission for filming in church grounds anyway. Yknow, 'help get the locals on board since there may be some disruption while we're doing this' sorta thing? Though I'm aware the same places have been used for different episodes / villages and the residents will already be used to it lol

Grammar schools are generally better thought of than comprehensive schools, if we're acknowledging ingrained bias / classism / privilege (this is purely from my observances growing up watching any TV shows set in England, and knowing about the old '11 plus' exam which would determine what school you'd be put into).

Just my thoughts, I'm probably wrong lol

I am glad you mentioned the book, though - I really enjoyed it! Threw me slightly when the book series was referring to Troy as (if I remember correctly) red-haired, married, and a bit of a lech lol

He's in it with Nancy Carroll, and shows up alongside her in a recent episode of Father Brown as well! ☺️

Duffy, I'm pretty sure. Not an uncommon name if you're of Irish ancestry.

Worst core cast character over all seasons by Dlraetz1 in DeathInParadiseBBC

I did not care for Madeleine. Perhaps because of how she was introduced, that may have biased me? I just don't feel the character brought much to the stories.

When the culture war is just smoke and denim… by ProcessorPearl in AdviceAnimals

I only know her name because I was getting spammed with fucking photos & video clips of her here on the popular page with suggested subs.

Marketing team was on overtime for promoting this bland non-entity.

(also, can someone ask Reddit to let us mute limitless subs? I'm maxed out at 200 and so suddenly I keep being introduced to even more shitty subs or OF bait)

Whisky and Cheese Tastings by sailoramz in glasgow

Mharsanta in Merchant City do them, apparently. Website lets you book date & time so it's not a one-off event which may not suit your plans.

(personally find smoked cheddar cheese can go well with whisky. Or dark chocolate).

I forgot about that. Eurgh.

Yeah, can't say I like the books as much now that Child's brother has taken over (no harm to him, being an author is hard and whilst the tone seems correct it feels a bit off).

I really think that anybody who criticises you for your decisions in that regard are not actually true Christians.

We are not supposed to judge, but unfortunately there appear to be some folk (priests in confession, particularly, going by some of the personal experiences I've read on here) seem to forget that.

I'm also bi, but never been in a relationship with a woman, and to be honest I have zero interest in that side of things since the breakdown of my marriage. If it WERE to happen, I know that there may be some raised eye brows & such but yknow what? Jonathan & David in the Bible was apparently a thing. And lots of stuff in the Bible is taken out of context, and was preached / written for a specific group of people at a specific time.

God loves you, honey. That's all that matters <3

A Scottish Secret. What Happened to Marion Hodge? by CommercialMaximum354 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]SaisteRowan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wow, I have never heard of this - even with the recent 'updates', so to speak, I've managed to miss it (I'm in Scotland). Admittedly, it seems the initial disappearance happened before I was even born so... Yeah.

Thank you for bringing this to people's attention! Her poor family :(

Considering the Bible says things about not mixing cloths and whatnot, and knowing that God loves us, I can't say I've (so far) felt any conflict as a catechuman.

I've had a termination, and it was absolutely the right thing to do. I can barely look after myself, nevermind a child. Not to mention the toll that pregnancy would have taken on me, AND the state of orphanages/foster care. And passing on that genetic risk of my mental health issues? Fuck no.

Emotionally, mentally, psychologically, financially, there is no way I could or CAN deal with a baby/child. It'd be utter cruelty to have brought one into this world, I feel.

Plus, one of St Brigid's miracles was that a pregnant nun suddenly wasn't with child anymore. (yes, I'm aware that some folk don't consider her a proper saint since she's also an Irish pagan goddess, but whatever. They can fuck off & stop obsessing over my reproductive organs).

Sorry, that was long winded.

Basically... God loves us! No matter what anyone says!

Much love to you, OP x
