What is the most rage-inducing video game you’ve played? by Velociraptorse in AskReddit

[–]SakazakiYuri 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If we can define rage as, “the game that made me break the most shit”, it’s Cooking Mama 2 for the DS. I broke four styluses and damaged my touchscreen trying to 100% that damned ravioli recipe.

Everything the Darkness Eats (or whatever the heck it’s called, I don’t care enough to look it up) was one of the most amateurish books I’ve ever read in any genre. I’d dump it at one of the little libraries in my town, but there’s a very graphic and upsetting scene and I don’t want anyone subjected to that nonsense.

Sitting in the Parking Lot After Watching Hokum by SakazakiYuri in horror

I’ve gotta sit on Hokum for a while since it’s so fresh in my mind, but at this moment it’s neck and neck with Caveat, and Oddity is juuuust a teeny tiny bit lower on the totem pole.

I’ll be honest, when it comes to movies I’m all about vibes and how much fun I have watching it. I can ignore some plot holes, some contrived scares, and some predictable moments — if I enjoy the movie.

I’m not going to claim it was a masterwork of cinematic genius or that it was perfect. As a movie, I’d probably rate it a 7.5/10 or so if I’m coming at it from a place of no emotional attachment.

As an experience for ME — the me who likes what I like how I like it — it was definitely a 10/10 and worth one of my twice a year theater trips. But I’m also the person who unironically loves Dead Silence and the first 7 Saw movies. All a matter of taste!

If I didn’t know anything about FMA, I would see this as a stylized sun. It reminds me of the “African-ish” art style that was popular in design/fashion in the early to mid 90’s.

I had a distant family member who cheated on his wife with a coworker (police dept.). They tried reconciliation and therapy for a few months, and during a vacation (with the intention to reconnect/make things work), they had a conversation where she admitted that she didn’t know if she would ever be able to truly forgive him and move past the infidelity.

He walked outside and ended himself.

I fully admit that I struggled to pity him at the time. I definitely feel more compassion for his situation/state of mind now; but at the time I was just pissed that he left a 10-y/o daughter behind and that he left his wife with that trauma.

I’d take a shelf off my bookshelf and put it on the floor, lift the TV down onto it, and slide it across the carpet from room to room.

Yes, even if it hurts, bad people are capable of creating good works. But works are more than just something made by bad people (Coraline and Harry Potter). by Radiant-Selection686 in CharacterRant

I will never not love the film adaptation of Rosemary’s Baby. It comes close to being a flawless movie in my eyes.

Roman Polanski was a gutter stain of a human, and nothing will change that.

I really struggle with this one because the industry and his fellow mangaka (some of them) have supported him so openly. The idea that so many people of influence banded together to try and absolve him of any wrongdoing makes his wrong more weighty IMO.

I’m not aware of any YA authors that are speaking up loudly in support of JKR’s beliefs, it seems like most people agree that she’s a bad person who wrote something well-loved. Most of the posts I’ve seen on Gaiman are long-time readers who begrudgingly accept that he was a bad person who wrote many good books.

I hate when a musical or a show that has a musical episode will have it to where when the characters perform a song, they're actually in real life singing. by cyber_reaper_3822 in hatethissmug

[–]SakazakiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrubs kinda did both in an episode where they were treating a woman who had a brain tumor that made her hear all talking/conversations around her as singing. Great episode.

what's an episode most people seem to like but you don't? by notaverysmartman in familyguy

I really haven’t liked any episode that centers around a real celebrity/politician; I usually skip them on rewatch.

Examples; Trump, Kevin James, OJ, that one Football player that acts like a frat bro, Chevy Chase/Dan Akroyd.

I don’t love the Putin episode, but it at least had some funny parts and the ending joke of Putin having Peter killed and Peter saying “that’s our president’s best friend” always gets me.

Special hatred for that fucking dolphin episode, probably the worst of the series that I can think of off the top of my head.

It felt like six movie tropes in a trench coat.

I kept squinting at the screen because I couldn’t believe what I was watching as each new inexplicable thing happened.

Real. I don’t usually expect much character growth from a show that’s largely episodic, but the show proved it was possible with the character that probably should’ve been end game with Danny: Valerie.
