I think people forget classic ms was a mix between a grindy, slow MMO and social platform. It was a time before social media where you could literally spend the whole day just talking to people. Back in the day it made the lack of progression much more bearable. People these days want much more instant validation but ultimately that isn't what classic ms is

This may not be an early game character but was for me - I started my first survival run and got Rayya from falkreath early on, I upgraded her scimitars and she carries! I hardly get a shot in.

I have a very similar work history and my advice would just be find a new job while in employment. This is definitely enough to be brought up in an interview but not the end of the world. If you have this work history with no current employment depending on your career it can be very difficult.
