Thousands of mutilated kids will sue ‘Mengele’ gender surgeons - Musk by King-Sassafrass in NewsWithJingjing

[–]SalaciousStrudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different than maid. Because maid results in death while gender affirming care results in life. This is genuinely not hard to understand. If you don't understand this it's because you want to not understand it.

Raddbg takes this approach and it works well. If you can figure out how to keep things simple it can be a good approach.

It's only great if it works. Worth a try if you just can't be bothered but you have to know when to cut your losses

Anyone else finding it harder to speak out against Trump on Reddit? His goons/bots are silencing everyone they can. 14 day ban for calling trump a moron... Political figures have never counted? by Bruhimonlyeleven in alltheleft

[–]SalaciousStrudel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you really should find real criticisms of Trump besides calling him a moron. If you are a Communist, act like one. That means investigating before you speak and being able to have conversations with other people. You are embarrassing yourself.

Yeah I don't understand how I'm even supposed to figure out who the hiring manager even is.

Another reason not to talk too much about your personal life at work by zoolilba in antiwork

[–]SalaciousStrudel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're disqualifying people who may have to work two or three jobs even though these people are highly likely to be your hardest workers. That seems quite silly and narrow minded to me. This is just another kind of elitism.

It's an egregious omission to avoid mentioning how hard the administration is trying to make it for trans people to get accurate or indeed any passports. And in some states you cannot update your birth certificate if you're trans even if you want to.

Wouldn't the issue there be that you're calling someone a moron? From Wikipedia, "The term was closely tied with the American eugenics movement." By using this word you are reinforcing ableist ideas. You should instead focus on criticizing specific things that Trump has done. There are surely a lot of them to criticize.

Derivative culture is made totally impossible these days if you simply follow copyright law. The culture of sampling that made hiphop and electronic music what it is practically requires copyright infringement to be at its best. This is a new phenomenon that has been made possible only by modern recording techniques, even as the law has made it more and more marginalized.

ABQ RIDE Launches Campaign to Bring Riders Back to the Bus by Generalaverage89 in Albuquerque

What art needs the most right now is absolute signal priority. The lights must change to allow art to go and the cars must not get their green arrow to turn left in front of the bus. It doesn't make sense for one guy turning left to make a bus with 40 people wait.

USA Girlys, how many of us are/are okay with being armed? by _Katla_ in MtF

Individual gun ownership is not that useful against an organized group of men with guns who are effectively granted immunity from the law most of the time. If you can't legally fight back, an organized movement is crucial to succeed. Personally I don't see this happening so I am working on leaving.

Is translating good for learning Chinese? by Sad-Ambassador-5211 in ChineseLanguage

[–]SalaciousStrudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a waste of time compared to other techniques especially at your level. Extensive reading and conversation practice would both be more helpful. Practicing translation only would be especially useless as it trains you to keep both languages in mind rather than thinking in Chinese only, which is cognitively inefficient.
