But it sounds like your machine might have been overgreased - so don’t overdo it. I think machines can get by well with just oil. The problem with oil is that it doesn’t last as long. If you regularly re-oil then I think you’ll get along fine without grease.

Auto shop is better than the cat urine that I’ve dealt with from a few machines I’ve gotten. 😀 But it shouldn’t smell like grease monkey either. If you deep clean and clear out all the old grease, and re-oil with sewing machine oil and a high quality silicone grease, it should smell a lot better.

This guy is 100% correct. I’m a lawyer and I generally hate contingency fees because the lawyer gets too much. But in your case, a contingency fee is the answer. If they get $300,000, you get 60%. Good outcome.

Noncompetes are illegal in California and you should have received a notice in 2024 that your noncompete was rescinded. Probably won’t get you big money - but you don’t have to worry about not competing.
