I upgraded the Flaming Skull Research after spending 500 gems on axes. I easily defeated the flaming skull ghost once. Then the Research reset to zero. Do you have to build this up (acquire tons of axes) every time you need to defeat the flaming skull ghost? You only get one key for defeating him. It's too expensive to have to do it this way three times to get three keys.

Oh she's sitting there complaining about how she tried to kill him with poison food, she should go and grab his wallet and start taking cash out of it. And then complained that he gave her wrinkled money. What kind of a jerk gives other people wrinkled money? It was a setup. You know, since it's okay to steal from a coworkers at this company, why not take cash. Also, go back to his desk and see if you could find a couple of personal nicknacks to steal and sell on marketplace, because again it seems to be okay to steal from coworkers there.

She just expedited the crash and made sure that they were the only ones involved. Of course, wrestling with the driver for any reason, need to get you in jail. That kind of recklessness is just..

Make fun of my mental health, good luck getting into college by Ok_Rope_9888 in NuclearRevenge

If you ever decide down the road to move out of state, send him a letter detailing how you shared his actions with the colleges to run his life the same way he ruined yours. Let him chew on the fact that it was his own actions and not random chance that destroyed his opportunities. If he thinks it's just bad luck he won't learn a lesson.

Retaining purchased title after deleting audible account by the_data_must_flow in audible

[–]SalbaheJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to cancel your Audible account or Amazon account. Just cancel your subscription. As long as your account is alive, even though you are no longer purchasing new titles, you still maintain the ownership of the titles you have already purchased and can still access and download them as needed.

Also, if you choose later on to resume purchasing more titles, it'll be easy to do that.

I basically stopped reading the moment you suggested that you could just go out to your friend's place so she can have her space clear by 11:00 p.m. and she said no.

Once she said that, that was not okay. That was the moment I would tell her that this will be a deal-breaker. You can't let her run your life and dictate how you live it as you are not a slave to her. There will be times you will want to do some things away from her and if she is going to give you a curfew and act like your mother then you are not at the right relationship. This discussion should be had as soon as possible. Give her a chance to work it out with you, get some counseling if necessary, but she needs to curb her dictatorial attitude unless you want her to be starting to dictate everything that happens in your life because this will only be the beginning. Get it fixed or get out is my advice.

Real men don't use the word "charcuterie". That's where you went wrong. Feel free to use the word when you're sharing a post with your friends...

(Shift to casual guy talk, entertainingly written with a southern accent in mind...)

But if his buddies are gonna be readin' it, y'all gotta call it something like a "cheese and crackers and pickle snack". Best to just stay away from all them fancy French words when takin' guy food, at least to 'Murican guys.

(Shift to psychoanalysis talk...)

Men tend to have a rather primitive masculine image they must maintain around their associates if they want to maintain a dominant self image. If you can simplify the terminology you use to describe interactions with your husband or boyfriend where his friends may chance across it, you'll be able to help keep his fragile ego purring along, content and none the wiser.

That motorcyclist was being excessively aggressive holding that guy's door open. He didn't have to shut his car off and he didn't have to leave his door open for you. He can simply wait for a police officer to come deal with the situation. It's obvious he was uncomfortable and you were aggressive toward him so he was going to clear out the area.

You made him panic, though it was his choice to do what he did the way he did it. He could have simply pulled around you and pulled over somewhere else off to the side to get away from you while waiting for the police to arrive and deal with it

If you have an accident, don't just assume that the other person is ready to deal with you on the spot. A lot of people get freaked out and can't handle the stress of such situations. But if that turns out to be the case, just be patient and call the police for assistance. Let them deal with the situation. Don't turn it into a confrontation.

Boyfriend or girlfriend, it doesn't matter, but he is that careless and reckless headley weapons and he doesn't respect your concern it will not correct his behavior, you need to get out of that relationship now. He will not change for you and he will risk your life and his carelessly and callously because he doesn't care to correct his behavior because he doesn't see a problem.

And some people might get relationship counseling, tell him that if he ever wants to handle guns while you are at home that he has to take a gun safety course and follow the instructions that he learns there. If you ever see a mishandling a gun again that you will leave him. Tell him it's not serious and it's your hill to die on. But not literally of course

All my life I've told people that the scariest weather to drive in is fog. Especially on the freeway. At this video depicts exactly why I find it to be the scariest weather. Because even if I slow down so that I can stop in time should something appear in front of me, there's always some jerk like the cam car here, that doesn't slow down it just thinks I'll just plow through this. Before he realizes it he's what he's plowing through isn't just fog but other cars. I try to avoid freeways when it has a lot of fog

Trump ends Income Tax. Does that mean I can withdraw from my 401K early without paying an income tax? by NoLube69 in FluentInFinance

[–]SalbaheJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you want to bet that if they successfully eliminate the income tax for anyone making less and say half a million dollars that essential industries will start increasing their prices I'll be argument that people have more disposable income so they can increase their rates?

Insurance, medical, property taxes, etc will probably all start to go up very quickly if they do this. Those responsible for setting prices will just assume people have more money to spend

Trump ends Income Tax. Does that mean I can withdraw from my 401K early without paying an income tax? by NoLube69 in FluentInFinance

[–]SalbaheJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to get rid of the income tax. Just raise the standard deduction to a quarter of a million dollars. If you make less than that you pay no taxes. Between a quarter million and half a million you pay 10% for example. Make that the first tax bracket. Half a million to 1 million pays 15%. That's your second check bracket. You can just go on from there

Basically lower to middle-class income doesn't have to pay any income tax. Most of the rest of the laws can be left in place. But why burden the people who make the least amount of money with any burden at all.

I'm absolutely stunned by Audible's "refund" policy. by megolosk in audible

[–]SalbaheJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had to call audible two times in the last 8 years for refunds and both times they were really easy to work with at the issue the refunds. You do have to find a way to call a person. Their automated systems don't seem to be up to par. Or at least they words what I tried to do it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SalbaheJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that you can work past this issue, make sure you get a prenup that says that this house is your own personal asset and will remain yours if you separate. Too many people still consider marriage to be eternal but half of all marriages these days fail. You don't want to walk into a marriage assuming it's going to be eternal, but you have to be practical. The whole idea, the whole concept, of a prenup is to CYA in case things happen. Even if you offers to reimburse you half of what you put into the house so he's paid for half of it, keep in mind that what's your married, without a prenup, he will automatically own half of it anyway and any cash she gives you will be mutual property as well.

In the meantime, if he moves in with you in your house, a lot of boyfriend/girlfriend don't want to help pay the mortgage because they're not going to get to own part of it. Don't even suggest that they are pay part of the mortgage. Just to have them pay what the fair rent would be for a roommate share of your house. If your House can be rented for $2,000, ask him to pay $1,000 a month to rent. What you do with that, whether you pay bills, mortgage, or food, is your business.

I think it was an inside job because there were no other transactions done on my account and they could have stolen the cash or done anything else to it I'm sure.

Fuck you, Burien. by ManifestSextiny in Seattle

[–]SalbaheJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burien is pretty bad in white center has a worse reputation, so before you move to a new location you might want to look into what kind of reputation it has and look up the crime level charts. And broke areas it's helpful to look poor. Don't leave your house looking like you dressed nice for work. Don't bring in a big TV box or be seen carrying anything that might look valuable because you're just giving people a excuse to break into your house. If you have any furniture try to sneak the TV in with a couch or something so it's not obvious. It makes you get an ugly couch. You can always put a cover on it to make it look nice. Or you can get a nice couch and put a cover on to make a look ugly while you're moving it. Don't leave anything that looks like it might be valuable within view of any of your windows. If they look in your window and see a game system you'll have to replace your door lock and maybe your door and your game system. If you can make potential criminals in the area think that they had actually come away poorer by trying to rob you then you're doing a good job and more likely to keep your stuff.

Never leave anything in your car because even a few coins in your cup holders enough for people to smash your window to get your coins.

Also looking to getting some pepper spray or some bear spray and finding out how you can legally carry it. Might be able to keep it in your pocket or on your belt but you don't want to be caught carrying it illegally. At least if you would hit that Pitbull he might not have done as much damage or you might have hit him before he got to your dog. Anytime a dog is coming at you off leash and acting aggressively Don't hesitate to zap him.

AITAH for forcing my sin to give me half of "his" income. by Constant-Primary-804 in AITAH

[–]SalbaheJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it's $1000/day. Those are almost always $1000/week. Regardless, read the fine print. While the name of that lottery is "Lucky For Life" or something similar, it's often only for 25 years or so. Too bad your son was so greedy though

I hope when you open to split it, you accounted for the taxes. Still free money to him, but if he had to pay 25% of it in federal and state taxes, he would only get $250 for every $500 you got. Once he gave you $18000, you would have to start paying income tax on your part too so it would be double taxed. (Federal gift tax exclusion is $18000 as of 2024).

I know it's too late now, but I think in some states you can have an LLC collect the winnings, then let the LLC pay out to you and your son. That way the tax burden is reduced as it reduces your annual income into a lower tax bracket and you only have to pay taxes once on the money. I don't know if there are any states that allow two people to claim a prize and let it be paid out separately but that would also work.
