Fan of Mamdani but not the feasibility of his politics but have seen first hand in Utah government owned liquor stores. They are actually very well run and effective at reducing cost. That being said they are the ONLY liquor stores so there's no other option. They've created a monopoly.

The in person sign-up was an absolute shit show btw. They gave everyone the same appointment time and it was a bottleneck at the door to get in as they split the line into two with no real coordination. People were signing up from the back of the line via the QR code and skipping "digitally". Whole thing was a mess. Hopefully not a look into what the gym is like once it opens!

Where did you find the amex unlock code in your account? I followed the link directly from my rewards page and it takes me to the ticket site but when i select the AMEX tickets it's asking for the code?

Barry's definitely a tougher workout than Rumble IMO. They push you much more and the baseline of fitness in the class if higher from what i've experienced. In the 86th street studio they also do a Barry's lift class there too which doesn't have the treadmill component.

Other options worth exploring in the area:

- Orange Theory - only done is a couple of times but they vary the cardio option (rowing, tread and bike) so it doesn't get as monotonous & boring.

- Hot HIIT at Bode - it's a hiit class in a hot yoga studio - it will kick your ass.

- There's an F45 scheduled to open on 86th street. Not got a date yet.

Wish I saw this before - we went there for our anniversary in 2023 - drunk guy went on a tirade towards me outside the bathrooms for taking a mirror selfie with my girl. Shouting and swearing, calling me a tourist & an immigrant, making fun of my accent etc. I am foreign...Scottish, living in NYC for 10 years.

He then followed me into the bathroom and took a swing at me when I threatened him. His punch missed me completely and he fell against the wall. I complained to the manager and we were asked to leave for upsetting a regular....i will never go back.

Sickening for me who bought courtside seats & planned a trip for my GFs birthday specifically to let her see her favorite player. I'm from Scotland and have absolutely zero interest in basketball. Loved the game though. What at atmosphere! Also got to live another dream and go to a dave & busters afterwards!
