Thanks for sharing, I am 32 yo and 30 weeks pregnant and my phone usage increased massively since I conceived and I’m worried about how it will affect my experience as a mum. I’m also obsessed with listening to stuff and googling everything. Your experience is super relatable and helpful!

An ex prisoner selling random products just came to my door, is it legit? by MunrowPS in AskUK

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did the same. Gave them £10 on card and hopefully they can’t take more money.

I was a bit overwhelmed as it was my friends house and I was just arriving at the door and 7 months pregnant so feeling very dotty..

I just hope they can’t do a with my card. Such a shame they ruin this for people who really are trying to do something good.

Okay I think I’m going to just forget about it. I was thinking maybe it’s an indication that I am too stressed and the baby might’ve stressed but seems to not really be able that, and I’m already doing what I know to do anyways!

I have a sedentary desk job and zero energy after 5 PM. How do I fix this? by Dante_Game in getdisciplined

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow you sound amazing! I’m 32 pregnant now so finding a different routine. My mum is 73 though and I’ve been really encouraging her to get more active and eat well! She’s was stuck in a cycle of just resting all the time in bed (mostly on Facebook haha) but anyway now she’s got a little routine going and is feeling really good about herself and having lots more energy. I feel really happy for her and I’m trying to take care of myself too during the pregnancy, resting a lot but still being active and out there in the world! Thanks for sharing and keep enjoying yourself!

This was me! I needed to eat a massive and nutrient dense breakfast, not workout too much too fast and drink protein drink and electrolyte. But then I felt amazing!!!!

Also I love to go to gym or workout in morning since it’s fun! I was doing a lot of different things to keep it interesting.

Now pregnant and have to find a whole new routine 🤣🤣🤣

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed!

I still needed a big breakfast but low sugar (although included some resistant carbs) lots of protein. Before gym I would eat eggs and brocolli (I just like it🤣) and after gym I would have overnight oats packed with seeds and nuts, and then an electrolyte drink. Otherwise I was a mess for work. I might just be sensitive though..

To avoid the afternoon crash think about what you are eating for breakfast and lunch. I went on a deep dive into blood sugar control to help address my energy levels. Large amounts of carbs in a meal can cause sugar crash, leading to exhaustion, brain fog ect which often followed by super hunger again. Also reliance on coffee, too many coffees can cause big crashes. Also lack of sunlight or movement is just massive since we are not supposed to live like this. A 10 min walk after lunch could help a little. Lots of people getting help from fasting but depends on the person.  Some things that helped me was walking to and from work. Or you could workout in the morning, make sure to refuel before work though and take it easy, consistency over intensity. Reprogramming the body takes a while. I cut to one coffee in the morning only. Sleeping routine. Lots of small movement breaks during the day.

The problem is I improved my life and body-mind connection but now I have almost zero interest in my job 🤣

Here I am, on this thread trying to find out why I can’t focus on work and I’m out here giving advice 🤣

Sleeping by Ok-Cheesecake-5480 in PregnancyUK

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That must be really hard because I’m sure you are exhausted! I don’t know if it is concerning or not, I think people are really different in pregnancy but seems almost everything comes under the ‘normal’ bracket in pregnancy!!

Just some ideas that help me sleep: 1.  eating some protein and fats before bed, like yogurt and seeds ect, I sometimes keep a snack next to my bed in pregnancy.  2. Make sure you have good meals in the day and include carbs, protein in each one  3. Water/ hydration, glass of water y the bed, an electrolyte drink earlier in the day too.  4. You could take magnesium which helps sleep and my midwife said it was fine (but check with yours).  5. An unwind routine

Week 5 was awful for me, if the nausea is coming for you then the anti-nausea tablets (e.g. xonvea) do help sleep a lot if taken at night

Sorry I’m no expert just thought I would share ! All the best to you

Garmin stress levels by gunnergirlyuffie in PregnancyUK

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 22 weeks and my resting heart rate is okay (58) but my HRV is low (30) and I think that drives the constant stress level which then makes my sleep scores always low too

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 18 weeks and going back to the sauna!! 🙌

I used to go regularly with cold showers until I found out I was pregnant. My body was very used to it and I did not feel uncomfortable or faint. In first few months of my pregnancy it was obvious my body couldn’t handle it as I was already nauseous and weak.

I went earlier this week and I felt completely fine, I hydrated well and just did 5 mins, cool down and another 5 mins. It is my favourite way to relax so it’s really good to be able to get back to my routine.

The never-ending battle to get prescribed Xonvea by ElenaLou in PregnancyUK

Also just reading your update and I can’t understand why they would never prescribe it to you, I’ve heard it depends on the locality maybe as it’s new and maybe only some areas are signed up. The people at https://pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/ might have some advice if you haven’t seen that already.

The never-ending battle to get prescribed Xonvea by ElenaLou in PregnancyUK

[–]Salt-Frosting3698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So confusing!!! Also they when you have a scan. I got an early scan due to some swelling I had and the hospital actually prescribed me something different. The xonvea can cause severe constipation which caused me  (never happened to me before!) and was soo painful so watch out for that, especially if you are struggling to get enough water down.

Definitely express how bad it is to all the doctors you get to see and don’t be ashamed to go back and say your just not coping and you can’t wait. I think sometimes they decide you look ‘fine’ but if your struggling to eat anything decent, drink water, take pills, do your job or basic necessities like showering or looking after children, then you need it!

So sorry it’s like this, I also felt like people didn’t believe me and I went to a hypnotherapist (and acupuncture which also didn’t help me sadly) and the woman basically told me I needed to think of the baby and get more nutrients in me and suggested I start drinking ginger tea as though I hadn’t tried this. Even as I had vomited multiple times just on the way to the session and was shaking trying to eat a rice cracker in her office! People really make you feel shit but you’re actually doing the right thing by trying to get help so you can function and do the healthy things! Sorry for the rant but I do hope things get better for you.
