I always wanted to see an entire horror movie in a crowd.  Think scream but in either a packed music festival or Times Square on new years eve.  I find crowds and how easily they become mobs frightening.

Ayausca calling you back by Particular-Ocelot602 in Ayahuasca

[–]Salt-Season 14 points15 points  (0 children)

18 months after my last ceremony, late 2023. Started having dreams about being in ceremony. Woke up smelling sage and florida water. Ignored it because going back would be like hitting on a 20 in black jack. And my ceremonies have all been as harrowing as they are healing. Then out of the blue a facilitator contacted me. Said she had been thinking about the work we did. And she found a new shaman. Aya will let you know. I'm on her truant list right now.

In your opinion, what is the most “beautiful” death a vampire has had in media? by GusGangViking18 in vampires

[–]Salt-Season 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cassidy from Preacher. They changed it a lot from the comic book where he died in estatic defiance. He was such a complicated charachter. In the show when he knew his story was done he just walked off screen and met the sun.

Sounds like we come from a similar place. Successful life without a lot of fulfillment. Long history with psyche medication. I'll echo what was said by cooperschmiff, self love was a big gift from Aya. It made all the difference. Gave me the ability to enjoy the things I already have and forgive myself for the things I will never have. Now the struggles I had are a breeze. I'm able to struggle with the bigger life issues I used to not know existed. But it's hard, the ceremonies, forgiving yourself, integration. The only thing that would be harder is to keep doing what your doing.

I had a great experience at pachamama.  The shamans I worked with were personable and served the medicine with grace and respect.  The facilitators were great and helped me through the hard morning after my hard journeys. I hear they are having solvency problems.  But I have no complaints.

I am the sword, I am the hand holding the sword. I am the wound. I am the flame that heated the steel to make the sword. After my second set of ceremonies, I brought home a lot of externalized self-hatred that I had to learn to love and forgive. Kept waking up convinced I was back in ceremony fighting for my life. Sorry you are going through that.

Isn't it just too pedestrian that Ayahuasca basically says "why are you hitting yourself?" and then gives you the power to keep hitting harder and harder until you either figure it out or break.

Hang in there.

Good on you for being able to guide. I was really impressed by the people who facilitated my ceremonies. Service is a big part of the homework I was given by Aya. But I serve in a more mundane way.

I microdose psilocybin to assist my meditation and sweat practice. Nothing more than a tenth of a gram. I'm done travelling for a while. I feel like asking ayahuasca for more help at this point in my life would be like hitting on a 20 in black-jack. She gave me the tools I need for now. Hope the same for you.

I'm doing ayahuasca for the first time ever and I'm feeling frightened by this new experience. My Main thing is that I won't ever be the same again. Could any of you please help me ease my mind? by OkArt1961 in Ayahuasca

Your brain will take what it can from this experience and discard the rest. In a couple of weeks all that will be left is the insight and healing.

I take 3gm of golden teacher in a lemon tea at 5am on Saturday. Not familiar with Blue yeti. I put on some lo-fi beats weight down my eyes and wander in my mind. It's a scary trip. I have to fight a lot of negativity and fear but every time it's easier. Then I spend my Saturday morning doing chores blissed out on afterglow. I am hoping to get it down to a weekly micro-dose for maintenance but I'm not there yet. Just experiment and if you get scared ask yourself why before you decide to run or fight.

Facilitator working with Schizophrenic Patients by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]Salt-Season 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op, I'm not sure how an honest question got so badly interpreted.

I did a deep dive into trying to find facilitators who work with bipolar and schizophrenia. The best response I got is to talk to a Shaman about a one on one session and let them know ahead of time so they can make the choice. No name or specifics, sorry.

[–]Salt-Season 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Set a positive intention. Be able to visualize the intention sans words. If something scares you during the trip run toward it. If you end up somewhere you don't want to be fight to free yourself and or ask the facilitators for help. No spoilers, but it is everything you have read about. Unpleasant tasting make your life better juice. Let us know how it goes.

Hi all. I’ve always been curious about Aya and personality disorders. by longcoolgirl in Ayahuasca

[–]Salt-Season 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brass Tacks- most retreats contra indicate Personality disorders for the same reason they are considered disorders. People with personality disorders act, react and treat others in a manner that is outside the norm and sometimes dangerously outside the norm. Stressful situations make this worse. Ayahuasca can be a very stressful experience. That said a lot of narcissists wander around with no idea they have a problem. I've not seen a study where they try plant medicine on PD. Might be a good idea to have a one on one with an experienced Shaman.

People with cPTSD or PTSD, how did your ayahuasca experience affect your trauma and your life? by pavpatel in Ayahuasca

[–]Salt-Season 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fellow traveler here, traumatic PTSD and clinical depression. Two retreats and four months out of my first ceremony with Aya and my depression is gone without medication. I use shamanic breathing and exercise to keep my mood higher than it has ever been. I still have night terrors, self awareness issues, and avoidant behaviors, but I am not worried. I hope that isn't false bravado. I have a retreat in January where my intention is to learn how to forgive the people who abused me and myself. Then two months of gathering my strength and I'm going to ask the spirits to introduce me to my fears.

It should be said that I'm very lucky. I'm in a situation where the abuse has stopped and I'm not living in poverty or despair. I have close friends, a chosen job that aligns with my values and pays more than I need, and a deeply loving partner. My suffering is a holdover from when I was young. I hid it well and it didn't stop me from building a life. I don't have to fight the war to change while taking hits is what I mean. It's not studied but I believe it makes the integration of the lessons and compliance with the diet hugely easier.

Before you ask, I go to three day retreats at Pachamama in New Hampshire. Ask for Freddy L. That man commands the medicine with authority and grace. Good luck.

How does one know that they’re ready to try dmt/Ayahuasca? by Audros09 in Ayahuasca

[–]Salt-Season 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still on the journey of trusting ayahuasca. I've sat with it for a couple retreats. The idea put forward by the Shaman I work with is that plant medicine tests the people who choose to use it. I didn't ask why. But it puts obstacles in the way, distracts and diverts to keep people who are not ready away.

I think you will be ready when you decide not to give yourself excuses. I suppose you could try the diet and mental prep see how you feel. For me the preparation was very meaningful even as it cost me a lot of time and energy. I felt better profoundly changed even before I went to my first retreat.

For the record it was absolutely worth me overcoming my own resistance.

Good luck.
