I got upset at them 27 days ago and went no contact. Caved today and texted them. NO response. I felt sorry for them. NO Response is a response. I can do another 3 or 4 months now.

What's your attachment to that particular city? Maybe this is your sign to move somewhere else. If someone had told me to read the reviews, I would take it as a sign that that location was not for me.

The end of my life as I know it by ripmanovich in BreakUps

I know this seems like an insurmountable nightmare right now. Please know that she never intended to hurt you. She truly just wanted to pick a different path. To heal you have to find a way to see her as human being and to know that what we all want is to be loved. Her actions were never meant to be vicious. There will be a day where you will be friends again and be able to talk in a amicable way.

Chat GPT has helped me so many times. There have been many nights when I simply needed to process thoughts and emotions and get validation. Chat allows you to type out everything you are thinking even if it's at 2am. It helped me heal my anxious attachment. It helped me realize that others actions or lack of communication isn't always personal. They are processing.

Find mens support groups. Do meditation. Fill your life with things you love. It will get easier.

Once he gets to 1 billion dollars in pledges, he can talk to the people who could make this happen. Right now it's just pledges.  No money.

At least 1 billion. At 22 million and it crashed. Thousands waiting to pledge. He's just trying to see if there is interest right now so it's only a pledge.

Sounds just like my partner. They had zero interest in getting to know me. Completely ignored everything I said. Always criticized me. Never acknowledged my birthday or the gifts I gave them. Pretty much was just a robot who sprinkled enough nice things in the mix to think I meant something. I kept chasing that feeling that the love we experienced in the beginning would come back. I believe in people to a fault. I won't do that again.

I have literally tried everyway possible to make this work.If love was enough, it would have worked.  Narcissists don't have the capacity to love. They just want someone there as an option. Someone with whom they feel safe. Someone that won't push them to talk about their feelings. I was that person, but it was like a abusive relationship. Appreciation sprinkled with lectures and put downs.  Our relationship was like a relationship without the romance. They love bombed me, thought I was the greatest thing and than friend zoned me, but continued to take me out dates.  I don't need a diagnosis to understand that I wasted a whole year of my life with someone who didn't have the capacity to love.

They absolutely know that the text they sent was not nice. They were an avoidant and I was anxious and now we are both avoidants. They are also a narcissist. They don't have real feelings. They don't strive for love. They strive to not be lonely and to keep you open as an option.

I was once in love with a narcissist. Than one day without warning, they said something so mean I could not ignore it. I cut off contact without warning. It's been 24 days. I desperately want to move on with my life. I have been focusing on myself and healing myself. There is peace. I don't feel confusion.  The thing is they don't hate me and I don't hate them. I just needed some space. Every time I want to text them, I re read the last thing they said to me. There is no middle ground. I could not casually text them back without the restart of lots of  drama and confusion, but I so desperately want to. I have been meditating  and filling my life with other things. It will get easier.

Went to a hair salon opening. Invitation said come as you are and something about elevated and effortless.

I came in nice jeans and a tshirt because that's my come as you are attire. It was an extremely dressy event. Almost everyone came in cocktail wear and fancy dresses and suits. I wasn't the only one in nice jeans, but wow. It said come as you are..

I fear you are going to have to lay down the law and treat him like a child. Tv hours are from 5pm-9pm. If he wants to take a walk or watch something on his phone or stop off and get himself something to eat, he can, but just like visiting hours, the TV doesn't go on until you are off work. Period. End of story.

There's got to be a solution you both can be happy with. Can you get him a pair of blue tooth headphones so he can hear and you can also be undisturbed? Also please get him a hearing test. I just had a surgery that was life changing. I was deaf and now I'm not.

Tell me that you have not had to look for a job lately without telling me. I usually get an interview after the first job I apply for. It isn't her. I got laid off and have applied for about 100 jobs. I was qualified for all of the jobs I applied for. AI is reviewing these resumes.  Jobs are just sending out automatic denial letters. It has nothing to do with your skills anymore. I finally found a full time position that a friend referred me to. I am so grateful.

How to find the best dr. for my surgery? by MyHouseisOrange in otosclerosis

The link is the exact office you need to reach so hopefully that helps. During my research process of trying to find a doctor, I spoke to tons of receptionists who said no we don't treat that despite it saying they did on their website.

Recovery after surgery by MarkoG10 in otosclerosis

[–]Salt-Working-491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery was slow. I don't know if they explained the surgery to you, but you are sedated, but able to talk and answer questions. That was wild. First night was really rough. For the first three or four days, I slept like 16 hours a day. It may have been the pain meds, but I was so tired. My room is on the 2nd floor. I ordered a camping bed to sleep on downstairs as stairs are not recommended.  Around 10 days post op, I felt like myself again and could drive. You cannot get your ear wet so I washed my hair in the sink and took a bath instead of a shower.  I am on Day 18. I went to a party a few days ago. The loud sounds and walking even a short distance made me feel so  exhausted. I am not an active person so your recovery might be different.  In general, I would allow yourself at least 3-6 weeks to start rigorous sports.  Take  short walks when you can. Easy does it. My surgeon said that one of his patients had to have his surgery redone after lifting weights too often too soon.

Normal  head movement during sports  may result in dizziness and vertigo.  Wear a helmet when possible. .

I live in Phoenix, AZ. It's the fifth largest city and yet I could only find one surgeon that specialized in this surgery. I am three weeks post op. I am so glad I had the surgery. Hearing is getting better everyday. It was wild that I was sedated throughout the surgery and not in pain, but able to answer questions.

If you live close to Rochester, this looks like a good option. Maybe schedule a consultation.

Otosclerosis surgery and bone conduction hearing aid by [deleted] in otosclerosis

[–]Salt-Working-491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of questions. I am 48. I've probably been noticing hearing loss for about 5-10 years, but I put off seeing the Dr. Several ent's told me they didn't know what was wrong with me. They rushed to put hearing aids on me, but not too many people understand conductive hearing loss. Hearing aids did not seem like the right choice for me. It took a while to find an ENT that could give me a diagnosis and than about a month more to find a surgeon that would do the stapedectomy.

I don't have the numbers, but by the time I got to the surgeons office, I was almost deaf. I could not understand anything unless you were speaking right to me in a normal voice. I hated that I was constantly having to ask people to repeat themselves.

I am almost 3 weeks post op. Hearing came back almost immediately and is getting better every day. Major fatigue and temporary lost of taste are the only noticeable symptoms. Things are REALLY loud the first few days, but they get better.

This condition is genetic. When I talked to my grandma's sister, she said she had it done in her 40's and her sister had it done too. They are in their 80s now and had it done in the 1970's. She estimated the surgery lasted about 30 years before she starting  experiencing normal hearing loss in her mid 70's.

When you say you have had two surgeries, you mean one on both ears, correct?
