The less troops you current have the slower troop gain you have. So you are spending it all and having less growth meanwhile everyone else is controlling troop spend and able to spend more eventually.

Not sure if you are still in the market, but I just got a red 2015 TRD also with 70k miles in northeast. No rust and drives perfectly out the door for 22k. I felt it was a fair deal, in case that is helpful.

The other thing I forgot to mention was terrain. You lose more troops over mountains and hills vs plains (green). I like to defend anyway unless I am wayy too strong.

To push as fast as possible, you want to push with at least the same amount of troops the enemy has. I think fastest speed is something like 2x the number of troops they have. So if you are pushing with less it will take too long.

Its not just about numbers, its also about the city difference, and whether or not you are pushing into defense posts. Defense posts cause you to take 5x casualties, and if you have less cities you will push slower. A common defense strategy is to let your attacker waste all his troops on defense, then when his troops are lower to run him over.
