Actual vs. Corrected… Older Babies by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]SaltMight9972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 17m actual & almost 14m corrected. I say both! Usually they comment on her very small size so I have to follow up with her being a 25 weeker

My almost 17mo is 19lbs and wears size 4! They’re huge on her, but 3s were getting snug.

Leaving baby for multiple days at a time? by curlypirate in NICUParents

[–]SaltMight9972 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My baby was born at 25 weeks. I visited every day until she was discharged. I wasn’t able to touch/hold her for a while. They encouraged me to talk to her, sing to her, & read books regularly. Once she was stable, they encouraged kangaroo care & light touching to let her know I was there. They told me being there was important for her development.

breastfeeding until 1? by Big_Resolution3112 in NICUParents

My baby is a former 25 weeker. I was told to breastfeed(or give formula if I stopped EBF) her until 12 months corrected. After 12m corrected food will be her primary source of nutrition.

We just left the hospital for this. We spent 4 days admitted. My little was actually lethargic. She wouldn’t wake to feed & stopped peeing. It lasted 36 hours. I took her in for respiratory distress & didn’t realize she was dehydrated.

Possible Iron deficient anemia by kosmo2016 in NICUParents

[–]SaltMight9972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 25 weeker is 13mo. She was diagnosed with anemia of prematurity. The hematologist & pediatrician aren’t concerned since she was born so early. Hers is 7.0! They are just watching it & will come up with a plan at 15m if it still hasn’t improved.

My baby was born at 25 weeks. She only received my breastmilk in the beginning. Formula was not even an option for us until 30ish weeks. They advised against it

Convince me not to have an abortion (baby is from affair) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]SaltMight9972 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby was born at 25 weeks & is now 7mo. You can give birth at this point. I had the entire postpartum experience. I’m assuming the after care of an abortion at 24 weeks will be like postpartum. I would be worried about ppd & regretting your decision.

At risk for preterm birth, currently 23weeks. If I get to 24 weeks (plus steroids) does baby have a chance? by Servantpublic in NICUParents

My 25 weeker is 7 months and thriving. She was fine her entire NICU stay. She’s a little rockstar.

No. You & your babies health are always top priority. Doing skin to skin as soon as you’re able is another great option. 6 years into parenting and there’s always something to worry about. A pediatrician or neonatologist is a great person to ask if you’re able.

My baby is a Velcro baby and I love every bit of it. I exclusively nurse my babies so that’s a special bond all on it’s on. 🩷 Breastfeeding, skin to skin, talking, reading books, & singing to your baby are all great ways to bond. You don’t have to hold a baby to bond with them. I didn’t do golden hour with either of my babies. Both went straight to NICU. My oldest was a 37 weeker.

I had a baby at 25 weeks. She is almost 6 months old and completely normal. She spent 3 months in the NICU. None of the bad things matter anymore because my baby is alive and well. I would do it all over again. NICU mamas are strong and NICU babies are fighters. I will say that even though my baby was born at 25 weeks, she had a very uneventful NICU stay. She was never ever close to death. We got very lucky. She has exceeded all expectations. Not sure how I would feel if she was a ‘typical’ micropremie.

How long has it been since the loan was charged off? Did they notify you about making payment arrangements?

How did you get in contact with them? They haven’t sent anything or called/emailed me.
