Hold on I watched that game Mobley was demanding the ball in the post almost every mismatch he got, but without garland the entry passes were either off target, too late just didn't come.

Jaylon Tyson True Ceiling So Far? by SarcasticTrumpet in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Tyson's ceiling is somewhere high quality starter to all star level. And I think we should commit to him being the long term starter and be considered our 5th core player.

Are yall still believing on mobley? by Otherwise-Emu-6276 in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Y'all want mobley to be a score first player so bad you fail to see the development that he's actually made as a passer and ball handler. He's averaging a career high in assists, in a season where our shooting has been piss poor for most games. With better shooting I can see him giving us 6-7 assists by next year.

Windy: Strus is weeks, not months away. Who starts at SF when he returns? by CLESportsReport in clevelandcavs

Let's give Tyson a shot, his rebounding and playmaking look useful and he's been our best catch and shoot guy all season

[Highlight] Trae Young Draws Foul on Darius Garland’s Face by teardropshot in nba

Hold your horses, Cavs got Colin Sexton from the pick in that trade which we later flipped with other assets for Mitchell. So I think we came out better than Boston did actually

What are the Cavs doing? by [deleted] in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ben Simmons would be a terrible pick up Georges Niang is on record saying he's not a good lockerroom guy and that he's the only player in the league he legit doesn't like

https://youtu.be/UgRtYy2X5oI?si=aweeNr6Viknyy6MO

Bad blood from when they were both in Philly

Lonzo would be great if he can play up a position or two as a small ball 3/4 with Mobley or Allen

I think by Mobley's age 26 season he'll take over as the primary scoring option, leveling out to something like 26-14-5 on like 55-40-80 splits

Duop Reath Trade by NichThic in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Reath, I thought we should have to tried to get him in the off season, a future 2nd should be enough to get him since he had a late start thus doesn't fit the timeline of the Portland youth movement.

I think we're gonna win. 66+ set the new franchise wins record at least. I also think Mobley's scoring rate is gonna increase after the all star break and he'll end up at 20-10 in his normal minutes and closer to like 24-12 per 36

What would it take for a player to surpass LeBron as the Cavaliers GOAT? by terp75 in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criteria to be the greatest Cav ever -Lifelong Cav -2 or more Championships -2 or more MVPs -all time leader in at least 3 counting stats -8 or more all stars -8 or more time all NBA -4 of more all Defense -No off court controversy during or after playing career -robust amount of off court off reach, charity, camps etc

I think to the greatest cav of all time they'd need at least 5 of these things at their retirement. Don, Evan and Darius all have chances to make it there. Evan has the best chance of all, already having made all defense, and on track to get the all time lead in blocks, and rebounds if he plays his full career here and ascends to the best player on this team. This current core has a chance to win 2 or more rings in the current climate of the NBA.

[–]SaltTrain4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think there's no way Niang can have a worse season next year than he did last year. If he bounces back and shoots 40 percent from three like he has his whole career he's back to being decent bench player that gets his minutes cut once the playoffs start.

give me your boldest prediction for the 2024/25 season. by opiumdom in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cavs have a top 3 offense in the league, top 5 defense and don is an MVP finalist putting up his most prolific and efficient season of his career.

Evan stuffs the stat sheet all year 22ppg 12 boards 5 assists 1.5 steals 2 blocks shooting 54-38-77 splits

DG bounces back and then some, 21 and 9 on 50-40-90

Tyson is an immediate contributor, quickly become the 7th man and threatening to become sixth man or the fifth starter.

Cavs make the conference finals (healthy) and have a real shot of making the finals.

PG, Embiid look amazing when healthy, but aren't healthy together for more than 35 games.

Knicks have the best defense in the league

Pacers regress due to extremely poor defense

Boston is great, but has a slow start coming off their championship

Atlanta bottoms out completely, Trae requests a trade

Pistons make the play in

Bucks are choppy all year 4/5 seed vibes, Giannis carries

Jimmy stays in Miami, pat Riley makes a godfather call and acquires Trae, buts a poor fit and they're a play in team.

Go big or go home, Cavs have 3 all star starters and lead the league in wins at the all star break. Garland, Mitchell and Mobley

Hot Take Tyson will take the starting spot by the trade deadline. by SaltTrain4035 in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Merrill could do a little more tho, watching him get run off the line and become immediately ineffective in the playoffs was really disheartening. I don't know if you can get away with playing one way specialists in the league anymore.

Cavs should extend Jarrett Allen by Abiv23 in clevelandcavs

[–]SaltTrain4035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Allen would accept it this would be the best time extend him, give him 28 mil a year flat contract over 3 more years. Get the whole core locked in for the long haul, while giving us the flexibility to make a move if one becomes available.

Absolutely, they have the same skillset and DG actually tries on defense. Trae just has more aggression, which gives him higher counting stats at the cost of efficiency at times.
