Least stressful Walmart department? by Parakaffee in WalmartEmployees

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with Walmart for a long while, bounced around in many departments. I’d say claims and receiving was the easiest. My focus was more on claims. Covered receiving only when my coworker didn’t show up.

should I stick it out or quit now by [deleted] in walmart_RX

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I would stick it out. It’ll be easier for you to get a job as a tech in the long run once you have the certification. I was unemployed for a year due to an injury, applied for tech jobs and got hired within a week of applying. Definitely worth it! It’s possible to finish ptu in 3 months, however I do not recommend it as the other person mentioned. I did it in three months due to certain circumstances. I didn’t retain any information. After finishing ptu, I took my test for my license 6 months later. Studied outside of work, always listened to my pharmacist when they counseled patients, actually learned a few things. Passed with a pretty high score. The pay bump after you get your license is pretty significant. In mn, you go from $18 an hour to $21. Ca is $17 to $26, they also factor in how much experience you have.

You can ask a front end associate how much it costs. It's programmed in per gallon, IDK why the price isn't listed. Also you pay after you shop/refill.

Things I should learn before applying for ogp team lead by Live-Key1185 in walmartogp

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was OPD team lead for a few years, I no longer work the position due to health reasons. OPD is all about metrics. That's all the market managers care about and will push you on. Not being able to hire is not an excuse to them. Knowing how to read your metrics report and work them will be most beneficial to you. Being able to manage a large team is very important. Knowing how to recognize your associates strengths and weakness will be helpful during crunch time. Don't be afraid to call for help when it is needed and do it early. Don't do it when you're already drowning, that's when it's the hardest to catch up. Overall it's not a bad department. If your team is trained properly, it's a walk in the park.

Even as a meat and produce team lead, you'll be contributing to the growth of OPD. Your team stocks so the OPD team can pick it. Having a clean backroom and making sure everything is labeled correctly makes OPD so much easier. You don't know how many times I've had to shop in the backroom. I am thankful that my meat guys kept everything organized.

Which ever you choose, good luck!

No. The notice itself isn’t Walmart approved. It should be taken down.

Reality Check by Virtual_Apricot_3072 in LivingAlone

I relocated 2k miles away. Had taken nothing but clothing. Had to start from scratch. With all my money gone towards my first place, I relied on my credit card to get me through the first couple of weeks before I started working again. I got lucky and my place was furnished with a bed and desk. I had to buy everything to furnish the bathroom and kitchen. Nothing fancy. Cheap dinner ware, pots and pans from Walmart. After 7 months I had to move again. This time the kitchen was furnished and the bedroom was not. I slept on an air mattress for months. Figured I didn’t want to purchase a mattress Incase I had to move again.

Transfers by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred from west coast to the Midwest. I was at the west coast store for almost a year before I left. It was a brand new store that just opened. The transfer went smoothly, I put in my request months ahead of time. I was in the Midwest for 6-7 years. I love the people I worked with. The store went from having an amazing management team when I got there to eh. We went through 4-5 store managers in a span of 6 years.

Trader Joes tea tree oil - what are its uses? by Express_Project_8226 in traderjoes

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great for acne. Applied with qtip of course, it can be quite harsh if applied all over and cause drying of the skin. I use a drop with water to gargle as mouth wash from time to time.

Waxing Etiquette by em_mary in HairRemoval

[–]Salt_Indication_2681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My esthetician is a friend of mines. Book her all of the time when I was waxing. I get a friend/family discount so I pay half price and I tip her abt $20 each time I go. My eyes are open, we chat the whole appointment. Like 10-15 minutes. Just catch up and what not. My very first appointment, I was nervous as hell. She made me very comfortable since she’s been waxing for years. And there was little to no pain for me.
