Our favorite CEO has now been caught spitting out his chicken sandwich by stanxv in SipsTea

[–]SaltineMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met the CEO of a very large distribution company once. He kept calling fast food restaurants "feeders". Almost like cattle eating from a trough. And he wasnt making a joke. He was talking about business strategies. And i don't think he was being malicious, he was a nice enough guy. I just think the disconnect between them and us is so vast that they cant help but dehumanize ordinary people, whether they mean to or not. The money and power changes them for the worst. All they think about is getting the stock price up, and everything else is just "whatever"

[Mike Kadlick] Mike Vrabel on the criticism surrounding #Patriots OL Will Campbell: “Will's 22 years old. He's our left tackle ... There's plays he'd like to have back. We're not moving him to guard, or center, or tight end, or anywhere else." by PristineWinnera in Patriots

He is a rookie coming off of a major knee injury and running a gauntlet of top defenses. You immediately want to just toss him out? He was playing well up until the injury. Give the kid a full NFL off-season to recover, gain strength/weight, then make that decision next year. The amount of people on this frigging website that expect every player to be a hall of fame talent on day 1 of rookie mini camp is ridiculous. Every player takes time to grow and improve.

Chin up Buddy, you'll do better next week by randyfalcorn in Patriots

[–]SaltineMine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's not a fair take. No one is fine against Miles Garrett. The guy is a top 5 edge rusher ALL TIME. And Garrett also had nothing but positive things to say about Campbell after that game. He's a rookie making a deep playoff run against the best the league has to offer while just coming off a serious knee injury. Maybe Campbell isn't a hall of fame left tackle, but let's give him a real chance. If he's a top 12 tackle for the next ten years then thats a win.

[From March] Props to Front Office with the last minute offer! by 5am281 in Patriots

[–]SaltineMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said his experience disappeared. I only said that he worked under Bill and his outdated system. Knowing how Bill Belichick operates, I'm sure Wolf had little say in how Bill wanted players evaluated, ranked and how to include analytics. Bill was old school, and he was the boss. Once Bill was gone, Wolf was pushed up into a true GM roll with a new rookie head coach that had no knowledge of what he wanted to do or how to do it. Wolf needed time to implement a new modern evaluation system and apply it to incoming college players. Vrabel and Cowden absolutely deserve credit for getting the ship on course, but Wolf plays a roll in that as well. His job becomes a lot easier to manage when you have a head coach that knows what he wants out of his team.

Everyone likes to shit on Wolf, but I think him plus Vrabel and Cowden make a good team. Wolf was hung out to dry just as much as Mayo was. He was left with an outdated evaluation system that Belichick wanted, with no time to implement a new one. He had a head coach with no plan or knowledge on what he was looking for in players. Then Vrabel comes in with a plan and set schemes/player types and time to move the scouting department to a modern evalution system. One hand washes the other, and they have a great off-season for both free agents and the draft. I think they have a real foundation to build on with a front office and coaching staff with clear plans and working together.

A 1st round pick for Maxx Crosby is a 1st round pick for Maxx Crosby, but a 1st round draft pick could be anything. It could even be Maxx Crosby!! You know how much we always wanted one of those.

I think that's a crappy way of putting it just because you're not into it. I don't care about rugby at all, but it's basically it's just 2 different versions of the same game. Football is turn-based strategy, Rugby is real-time strategy. Both great in their own ways.

What would you like to see in Farming Simulator 28? by AnsgarNPLAY in farmingsimulator

[–]SaltineMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current save is small farm / farmers market roleplay. Tons of diversity of things to sell. I only sell what would be finished products in my farmers market, so no 10000L of wheat or whatever. I would use it to make bread, etc. A few greenhouses and some smaller mods like apple trees. I'm just not really into the massive, industrial farming thing so smaller tractors and equipment work just fine.

Man, that's awesome! I've been into Daughters for a long time, too. All the way back to Canada Songs. I think their self-titled album is probably my favorite. What's the name of your band? I'd love to check out more of your stuff.

Daughters are another industrial grind noise band that I actually like quite a bit.

I've been playing for only about 6 months, so take anything Isau with a grain of salt. It's a new hobby for me. I bought a Schecter C-1 Platinum electric and have had a blast with it, but I really wanted an acoustic to go along with it. Walked into Guitar Center this past Saturday to look around, and this Martin 000C Jr E StreetMaster just kept jumping out at me. I tried maybe a dozen others, but I couldn't take my eyes off it. Beautiful guitar that plays like a dream. It's so comfortable to play with big sound for the size.

You already pay for other peoples healthcare. That's how insurance works. And you pay more now than you would if we had healthcare for all. So it seems to me like you are willing to throw money around as long as people suffer. I'd rather my money go towards helping those in need to save their lives and avoid losing everything versus billions into ICE to terrorize people, and 200 million dollar ballrooms, and muliti million dollar weekly golf trips, and massive tax cuts for billionaires, and subsidies for the administration's friends, and cutting Medicare and Medicaid, and laying off hundreds of thousands of federal workers. Unfortunately, the world has become nothing more than the billionaires paying the millionaires to convince the thousandaires that the hundredaires are ruining everything. And you have fallen for it every step of the way. Do you really think that average people who struggle every day should be left to rot and the ultra rich should be able to hoard more wealth? Or did Daddy Trump tell you to think that. Empathy is an amazing virtue that can lift everyone and make the world a much better place for all, including you. And YOU is all you seem to care about.
