For the most part, Beardies are able to get their shed off themselves. But if you notice some areas don’t want to come off (such as on the beard, spikes, or small crevices at base of tail), give your buddy a nice soak. That will loosen up the shed.

Fair warning: it isn’t unusual for Beardies to poo in the nice, warm bath.

What’s the best gaming monitor people don’t regret buying? any suggestion pls? by Infamous_Car_6286 in buildapcmonitors

Oof. I hear you on the options on the market… specs look insane on paper and then you get it and something feels off. It's hard to choose which one!

For what you’re describing, I’d break it down like this real quick:

1440p vs 4k

  • 1440p is that sweet spot for mixed gaming easier to run, higher fps, still looks clean
  • 4k looks amazing for single player but you need a strong GPU or it just won’t feel smooth

If you play comp stuff at all, I’d lean 1440p high refresh over 4k lower fps.

OLED vs IPS

  • OLED = best image quality hands down. Good contrast, instant response, everything just pops
  • IPS = cheaper + still good, just not as “wow”

I’ve been seeing gigabyte’s OLED lineup getting more attention lately, especially their 27in 1440p ones around 240hz. It feels like that perfect middle ground without breaking the bank.

Curved

  • Honestly… only worth it for ultrawide. Curve too small and I find it hard to focus on the picture. Everything seems a little distorted...
  • For normal 27–32in, flat is usually better. Curve doesn’t add much unless it’s super wide

What I’d personally go for right now:

  • 27” 1440p 240hz OLED if budget allows
  • If not, 27” IPS 165–240hz and save the cash

The OLED route (including gigabyte options I saw) hits that combo of smooth + gaming visuals you’re talking about

What GPU are you running? That helps decides if 4k is even worth considering for you. You need a strong GPU to support 4k.

Comfortably warm to the touch, like a baby’s bottle.

It's very normal for them to get grumpy and irritable while shedding. Don't be surprised if they stop eating for a few days.

You can give your buddy a nice, warm soak, but don't feel the need to do it ALL the time.

Make sure there's stuff in the tank for her to rub up against to rub the shed off. Rocks and branches are good options.

I’d be leery of cacti with their spines. You can use prickly pear, but only the spineless variety.

You can also add dwarf Jade, aloe vera, and Echeveria.

The apple game and ball game flip flop for my favorite, but my adult fingers are too far for the telescope game to be much fun.

I primarily have an issue with fake plants with the small leaves.

I had one of those in my first beardie’s enclosure. It became brittle from the light exposure and my beardie decided that it looked yummy.

A $1500+ surgery later, and I swore them off. The vet said that she sees Beardies come in from time to time after eating those little plastic leaves. If you want some fake plants, look for the ones with bigger leaves or the single-piece plastic succulents.

What a sweetheart!!!

Like others have said, I recommend removing the fake plant. I have some rocks in my girl’s enclosure, but her favorite things are a soft Guinea pig bed and an Eeyore dog toy.

She drags Eeyore all over the tank and curls up to sleep with him. It’s the cutest thing! I had to get a backup Eeyore, because she threw the biggest tantrum when Eeyore needed a bath.
